Bobubas and Prof. Stokes put things much more eloquently than I ever could, but I agree with what they said, Midnite - as much as I respect your opinion and how hard you work for this site (it's WAY appreciated).

Also - didn't mean to imply that I believe the forum rules are not enforced, or that people are ganged up on here (that is SO not the case).  Just that so many of the folks who've been on the boards awhile seem to know each other really well and that can be a little intimidating to newbies.  The Karma feature might make some folks feel a little uneasy/queasy when stating what may not be the most popular opinion.  ???

I've said my peace on this subject, though.  Thanks for listening!   :)

You know, I read about this topic over in the Testing 1, 2, 3 section and I just don't agree that it's a harmless bit of fun, as was opined there.

Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive, but it seems to me like an invitation to hurt feelings and dissent among forum members.  This board can sometimes be a bit clannish.  I think the applaud and smite aspect just adds to that factor.

Thanks for the funny, since the news about Mr. Rogers is really almost too sad to bear.   :'(

Loved him as a kid, went thru the 'cool' phase, but came back to loving him.  Now that all is said and done - I agree, his was a gentle, loving and understanding voice that taught children the power of imagination and that every person has value.  These are lessons we as adults can and should take to heart every day of our lives.  He'll be greatly missed.

Yech!  Petofi, to my way of thinking, is what they used to call a "double bagger" way back when I was in high school.   :P

He is very witty, though - and he always makes me laugh.  Some find that more than makes up for a lack of physical attractiveness.

IIRC this was filmed around the same time Woodstock was being held in upstate NY, so this would have been August of '69.  Maybe it was cold that summer.  :-

Thanks Vlad, that was so informative.  I'd heard mention of the Comte de St. Germain in a few books, but didn't really know much about him.  Now my interest is Stoked (pun intended) to find out more about the man.  Do you really think this is where the DS writers came up with the idea for Petofi?

I'm with y'all on this!  David Henesy is so goldurn creepy in these 'posessed by Petofi' episodes that he makes my flesh crawl.  I've had nightmares.

BTW, where can one find a 'raw' version of 'the Long and Winding Road?'  have always found the orchestration behind the vocals a trifle overdone.
