Yes, Magda could read but she had a little trouble with numbers.  She said Quentin left Collinwood at the end of 1797 instead of l897.  Never did any of the actors dream we would have VCR and be able to rewind the "small' mistakes.  Boy am I glad there is no rewind in my life.

My heart is aching just thinking about it.  Could not believe another tragedy.  I had been at an early basketball game, was shocked when I came home and turned on the TV.

Bob, we call it food poisoning around here.  One of my friends swears she get it every time she has more than one drink.  There must be something wrong with the popcorn or nachos

Lets face it the Collins aren't very observant.  It was so obvious it was the Q-man.  His height, side burns, clothes, dead give away.  What about Edward going into the Old House and asking Magna where the Barnster was.  Hello, his coat and cane were hanging right there on the coat tree.  Da-where could he be???  It drives me crazy that they have characters so stupid.  I won't be asking Edward or Judith to find anything I lost in this house.

Jennifer,
Don't tell me you go to the Irish Pub in Harwitch?  Irish Rovers, happy hours, Southy on St. Patricks day, The Tip in Worc., oh memories...  Sorry off Topic.

Current Talk '03 I / Re: Faulty Childhood Memories of DS
« on: January 31, 2003, 05:38:29 AM »
FDSM, of course I had it.  Funny, I re discovered DS right about where we are in the story line about three years ago.  I had not seen DS since its original run.  We finally got sci-fi, I think I have mentioned this before, and I showed my daughter when she was home sick.  I got hooked once again.  To be truthful I didn't remember a great deal of the story lines.  Of course I remember Barnabas, Josette, Angelique, and Quentin.  When every I saw John Karlen in another show I would also recall him as Willie.  The last few years it has been so much fun re visiting DS and the fun of finding this forum.   I was talking to my best friend the other day solving the problems of the world and we both said that when we ran home from school to watch DS, went to the store to buy the trading cards, and ran free and wild is one of the happiest memories of our childhood.  We didn't have many worries or problems than.  We were too young to worry about "boys".   It was a special time.  I feel sorry for my children because they never have had the fun of running home to watch something so crazy and they don't have the freedom I had.

Birdie--Gerard I thought I saw the David hanging scene too.

All I can say is thank goodness the kids have out grown so many of there big toys and the shelves in the toy closet are free to hold the DS tapes.  The only guestion my family asks is when do you think you will ever have the time to watch all of those.  Hey, taping DS is my hobby, along with a few other things.

Jennifer--the key is to go to the party and never actually watch the game.  We went to a Super Bowl party, put our names in the pool.  I sat with the women solving the real problems of the world while the guys and kids fwere watching the game.

We were discussing going to flee markets looking for interesting "stuff".  Maybe  I could find something worth  making my home more "Collinwoodish".

I have to admit, I am also guilty of taping and keeping DS.  Don't have the whole sha bam yet but am working on it.   I would love the DVD's but can't justify the expense at this time.  If I bought them I would have to hide them from my family and than I would feel like I have a real problem. lol.

Birdie--I could put the DVD's in a brown paper bag

When Rachel was dying and talking about going to live in a big white house by the sea at first I thought she was talking about Barnabas.  I re wound the tape and it was a dream she had as a child.  It struck me was that what she was looking for when her flirtation with Barnabas was going strong with out her being aware of it.  Interesting that they would write that into her dying words.

Birdie--why do I try to write and type when I am tired and do I make sense?

Jennifer,
I miss Calverts too.  It amazes me we have probably crossed paths somewhere it time. I live about 25 minutes from Shrewsbury.  Today I am off with my friends to Solomon Pond Mall and lunch.  I don't need to spend anymore money.  He wonders why I get nothing done.

Carol,
Remember I have four children, two in college, he gave up on a museum a long time ago.
Don't have the internet at work.  That is most likely a good thing. It would be far too tempting to do a little surfing.    The very young women I work with would never get DS.  They don't get any of my pop culture references.   I only work part time.

Carol,
I tend to go to a X-mass Tree in Shrewsbury, Ma.  Than again I have been seen in ones on the Cape, and one somewhere in Conn. near  Vernon.
I wish I had time to clean any room in this house.  We won't mention how often I am sitting at the computer.  I wasn't kidding I need Willie to come help out.  Just not motivated coming in a 6:30 at night.
Oh well, a clean house is a sign of a mispent life.

Birdie--Don't you just love a bargain
