I personally am much, MUCH more upset over WB's reneging of their promise to restore the NoDS film for the disc release than I am over anything to do with the Burton/Depp ... project. I am nearly as upset over various aspects of the handling of the October release of the films but won't go into that now.

I feel you, G.  I really do.

Hmmm...  So it looks like the deleted scenes will only be on the BR, and that the BR will only be offered with the DVD.  Who would have thought better of the same division that passed up the NoDS restoration?  Guess I'll have to wait awhile before seeing these deleted scenes.   [ghost_rolleyes]

And that poster has been being used for a while now for the Amazon Instant Video because I've been seeing it come up in DS searches since around sometime in May.

Ahhh...  I haven't checked in a while, but I always remember seeing the VHS art, but this was like 6 months back, so they must have updated it recently.

Also, I don't think I've ever seen that photo of Nancy Barrett as Claire that positioned next to Collinwood...

Nancy Barrett is getting A LOT of love in this artwork, which I think is fantastic, since she has always been so undervalued in promotion and official history, etc.  She's one of the finest actors of the group, so I am glad that she is getting so much attention here - especially in the NoDS shot!  Fantastic!

The back cover art is up for both HoDS and NoDS.  No mention of Depp Shadows anywhere.  Check it out for yourself on Amazon.  Really kind of digging the backs.

Though I would have loved for this to have been the cover art...

This must be new, because I don't recall this being the image used for the Amazon rental.  It was the old VHS art.

This is refreshing news.  The cover art is 100 times better than the images we saw earlier.  I just hope that the DVD (either the one that is included with the BR or the single release) has the deleted scenes, and that they aren't just on the BR disc.  I can't afford to buy a BR player just for these scenes, so I am hoping this is the case.  I think that these deleted scenes will make this film much more enjoyable, as they don't sound like some of the included scenes which I will surely be fast-forwarding through.   [ghost_wink]  These added scenes may also help explain the purpose of Julia Hoffman in this film, which would be nice.

I have not been able to bring myself to go down to the comic shop to get it yet, but I am glad that some are saying there is an improvement.  I imagine that there is, considering it couldn't get much worse than what was in the previous two issues.

As long as "Julie" doesn't make another appearance, I think I'll survive.

I caught that too, retzev.  "Episode 2" was clearly a typographical error.  I guess they just omitted the last two numbers!  As for the DVD Collection episodes, I guess they were using The Beginning sets as their source.

My theater experiences have had several walk outs as well.  Mine happened after the B/A scene, right before the party, and after another point I can't remember.  I think it's just the fact that there is so much of it.  It's like 3 weeks of modern soap ''action'' crammed into 1.5 hours.  It's a little overkill, and I could do without most of it, especially the B/Julia scene.  If it were only the B/A scene, I think I'd like the film a lot more.  But Angie is always trying to get Barnabas in bed and it becomes a little excessive, especially in comparison to how tame the original is.  So that's my theory.

Wonderful news!  I have been waiting to get this!  Thank you for the heads-up, Darren.

Dark Shadows Number 6 is being released in comic shops tomorrow, July 25.

These have apparently been pushed back until May 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!  Gah!

And the Barnabas cane is also experiencing delays!

Let us hope this all makes it to the market and is not canceled.

That's really interesting, MB.  I find it amazing that some towns and cities are just bringing it back from the dead.  DS certainly has received an abnormally long life when many in the industry seemed to think it was dying on the vine.  I wonder if this will have Warners rethink its "flop" status, thus possibly producing interesting results.   [ghost_wink]

That's a really good question, madscntst.  Where is it picking up traction if not around us?  DS left my area two weeks ago, and I don't think it's coming back.  So I wonder what regions it is doing so well in!

That trailer piqued my interest more than the WB trailer ever did.   [ghost_cheesy]  Looks like a lot of fun!  Enjoy it all!

Doctors Guthrie and Lang were very funny!
