And he looks the same today! A tighter and shinier face but you have to look good for your SYT. Maybe Julia convinced him to have CDT paint his picture so CZ-J won't know who she really married.
Yes, so now Catherine Zeta Jones has two shiny little men to improve her career prospects and bank balance ;)

It's a goof - bizarrely, from this time onwards, the writers seemed to decide that 1795's flashback had actually taken place in 1797, which is the date you'll hear given pretty much every single time it crops up from now on.

And yeah, it makes my brain hurt too  :-

I'm not exactly surprised, but agreed, it is a sad omission.

Sounds good to me - it's cool having any merchandise from MPI that isn't a red logo pasted on any random black item it happens to fit on...

Can't be any more horrifying than the gargantuan Barnabas boxer shorts from a few years back... ;)

It's pretty extreme and freaky.  Very psychadelic with a migraine-inducing score to boot...  Yet, strangely compelling, all the same.

Joan's part is very small, but has more than a touch of Elizabeth about it.

Speaking of the DVDs, I've just uploaded the cover to DVD Collection 5 at my website - http://www.collinwood.net

It's okay, a bit palid, but a nice shot of Lara :)

I'm not sure that the encoding of the DS DVD set permits one to go directly to a specific scene in this manner.  Does anyone know about this?
The DS DVDs encode each episode as a single chapter, rather than breaking them up at the "act" points...

Pity really - I have discs of a couple of other soaps, and it's much better presented with the option to hop about easily.

No, there's no distinguishing marks on it, AFAIK.  Silly really, as I daresay some poor sod has paid over-the-odds at some point, thinking they were getting an original.

Current Talk '03 I / Re:DS DVDs--Picture Quality
« on: February 27, 2003, 09:43:06 PM »
Just to add, I think the DVD colour presentations are the best the show's ever looked.

Bear in mind that especially for the early months of colour on DS, the lighting levels were kept very high and the cameras themselves don't seem too well tuned - the pictures themselves are a lot hazier than their black and white counterparts.

It's a case of silk purses and sow's ears -- these are not perfectly balanced and lit shows and the quality reflects that.

No, the first movie filmed while the 1970 Parallel Time story taped, and it was specially constructed to contrive absences for all the actors appearing in the film.

AFAIK, Jonathan just took a month's leave during 1897 and had a vacation -- bear in mind at this point, he had worked on the show almost solidly since April 1967 without any major period of leave.

Current Talk '03 I / Re: Whatever happened to Josette's Music Box

I did hear a while ago that Michael Stroka swiped the prop music box as a gift for his then girlfriend -- how much truth there is in that is anyone's guess, though.
