Calendar Events / Announcements '11 II / DS Cartoon by Sherlock
« on: September 10, 2011, 04:37:24 PM »
I have been trying to find a cartoon that once appeared in a few fanzines in the 80's by a cartoonist named Sherlock.

It was captioned "Deja Vu" and had the Collins family watching television, supposedly Dark Shadows.

Is there a collection of his work?

Regarding 2 bearded men in scenes, did Petofi & Trask have scenes together?

There were fliers about a reunion, I believe it was the 1991 DS,  but I don't think I took one.

James Blair appears already?  When did Stuart Bronson make his appearance?

Its odd they didn't simply recast Bronson given that he appeared in only one episode.

I think this is the episode where for years, it was thought Joan Bennett said "Welcome to Hollywood" when Sam arrives.
Bill Malloy was to help Liz fight Jason McGuire (called Walt Cummings in the bible).  There wasn't any Willie Loomis. There was even to be a scene with Walt getting on a ship at New Orleans heading to Collinsport.
As for Roger being a short term character, Art Wallace's original story bible "Shadows on the Wall" didn't have a murder mystery following Roger's car accident.

The second storyline was to be Burke searching for the truth about his being sent to prison.  The climax was to be Vicky learning the truth about what happened and Roger forcing her to Widows Hill to throw her off the cliff.  Just as he was to do so, David would appear and throw Roger to his death over the cliff.
Bill Malloy was to live and eventually have a romance with Elizabeth.
There wasn't any Matthew Morgan or Mrs. Johnson in the story bible.

Stuart did speak about the DS audio dramas, but I don't remember if he said anything about a third season.  I bought the first two seasons but havent gotten around to listening to them yet.

Chris Pennock was there and said his family emergency had gotten better and thanked the fans for their support.

Arashi, there were groans in the audience when an audience member said she had a question for Roger Davis!

They did show the 2004 DS pilot as the "surprise" they had in the schedule.

I hated it it, it was way too campy and everyone seemed to be overacting with the exception of the actor playing Barnabas who I thought was pretty good in the role.  The dialogue was badly written for the most part.  I thought David was done ok as a sociopath!  Angelique looked good herself.   Willie Loomis was a joke prior to his releasing Barnabas (who climbed walls like Spiderman).  Carolyn acted and dressed like a tramp.

I am glad the WB didn't pick this up.

Roger, who did not look well at all, kept mumbling apologies and rambling on about real estate and how he lost millions, etc and about banking.  I thought this was strange even for him!

One audience member even asked him why Joan Bennett didn't like him!  He said it was because of the time he played Dirk and he lunged at her as Judith too rough.

KLS couldnt take it anymore and tried to lasso him, but it still didn't stop him from rambling.

He did give a nice story about Don Briscoe and how he was a real nice guy with a good future in acting and was saddened by his dying so young.

I wish I thought to set my camera on video for this.
