Like I said before, MB, we original fans aren't getting any younger.  We have to watch our finances.  Because of you-know-who, the franchise not been passed to younger generations (there are exceptions).

Do I, who has to pay for my utilities, have over three-grand for a game?  Will a twenty-something pay that for a game?

Again, I blame you-know-who for the collapse.

Do these sellers just pull these prices out of their head or do they research the market value?

I have the board game, purchased at some combo antique/flea/junk shop in New Jersey back in the '90's.  Of course, everything there but the teeth.  I don't remember what I paid for it.

Interesting that this game with the teeth had an original asking price of almost $200 an is now less than $50.  Not to be morbid, but to repeat again, we original fans are not getting any younger, need to watch expenses, and how much time do we have left to enjoy memoarbalia we might have?

If you-know-who would've loosened the purse strings and call off his army of lawyers and allow FREE publicity regarding the franchise, things might've ended up differently.  Let's face it - we're the last with only one generation behind us with a small interest.

Well, it took time and patience, Josette.  I accumulated those riches over several years.  The most I won at one time was $300 from having the most earned tokens from the PCH homepage.  A couple prizes were from Amazon and with them I bought a book and a DVD (2002's Carrie).  Everything else has been cash.  Back in July, on one day I won $20; the following day I won another $100.  When I cash the checks the tellers all say they need to start playing.  You have to put up with a lotta annoying ads but, hey, it's free!

This is the first I've heard that flash is on its way out, like netscape and webTV.  Most sites I use, including Publishers' Clearinghouse Sweepstakes (where I've already won over $700) uses only it.  No other upstart and tendy-today-gone-tomorrow will work.

Kendrick:  "Yes, Melanie, we'll get married.  And since you're nuttier than a fruit cake, Bramwell showed me how to get an insurance policy on you that will send you to the asylum while I clean up."
Melanie:  "Oh, Kendrick, I'm so glad you planned ahead."

Catherine:  "Whatever."

I'm thinking it's the brilliant special-effects scenes of the evil ghost in The Uninvited.  For those who've seen the film, the spirit looks like a dead ringer for Angeliques' spook in the '91 series.

When it comes to the cost of the movie popcorn, candy-bar and soda, Barnabas managed to convince everyone to go Dutch treat.  He didn't have enough of Naomi's jewels on him to buy a round.

I'll bet he just found out how much it costs to buy popcorn, a candy bar and a soda at the movies.

When I hear "flashing," I think of the seventies.  Remember what that meant back then?

Nah, MB, it won't make a believer out of me.  I'll say this much for the old show:  on most of the episodes, the hunters stated that there was no credible evidence of the paranormal in most of the cases they investigated.  I'll give them that credit.

Has anyone noticed that most of the spook shows have now shifted to the Travel Channel?  There are scores of them, running every day from morning to night, seven days a week.  No more "travel" - Samantha Brown, who had a good show about travel (she stayed in the same hotel in Venice I did), is gone; so are the rest of the shows.  The dullest on the TC is Ghost Adventures with a host so annoying you want to throw an iron at the TV screen.  The Deaf Files has been totally debunked.

But the shows are fun to watch.

One of the few Disney videos I have is Beauty and the Beast.  But everyone bought that one so it must be a dime a dozen.  I do have both HoDS and NoDS on video.  I imagine if I tried to sell those, you-know-who would send out an army of lawyers.

Join in, MB:  "Always look for the union label, when buying a shirt, blouse or dress.  Always look for the union label..."  Remember those ads?

At the only DS fest I attended, during a question-and-answer session with cast members, John explained that unlike other performers he never had a contract with DCP or ABC.  He came and left and returned as he felt fit and when other work ended and DC could use him again.  He stated:  "My relationship with Dan Curtis was based on a handshake and a ten dollar bill."
