I went into my profile and changed the avatar , because my old "Adam Frankenstein" theme has long gone, but it didn't work.
I was asked for my password, and I gave it and I don't understand. Afan

Deleting the cookies per your instructions worked! For the first time in a couple of months I am actually on the Board using my own machine!  One question though- does staying always signed on invite unwelcome guests into my system?  I was afraid that it did, and that is why I never checked the box.  Anyway, it is working now.  Many Many Thanks. 8) Afan

Hi, this is Afan.  I have not been able to get to the message board in several weeks now.  Since you closed the board to all but members, and even though I have been a member with a password for some time now.  I am using my husband's computer and my password, and I have no trouble getting in.  Do you think that it is my Norton Antivirus?  I have had it all the time. What could have changed.  He does not have this particular virus program.  Is that the difference.  Also, when is the Board going to change and not have the sign in?  Thanks. Afan

Patti, thanks.  We are leaving AOL and Norton very soon.

Thank you so much.  Please pass along the Norton information.  I again tried to sign on on my computer tonight after being successful on my husand's and ran into the same old problem.  I could not click on anything.  Thank you for the addresses.
Afan, who is calm now that I have my Board back!

Afan here.  I used my correct password, was taken to the Current Talk and Testing screen, but was booted out when I clicked on anything.  I e-mailed over and over (see Aol and Hellish time signing on).  I appreciate all of your hard work, and only suggest that we have some way of calling for help when we get stuck like I was for a week.  Finally solved part of the problem on my own when I used computer belonging to my husband not loaded with Norton, and I am ok now. But felt so frustrated that I could not contact you for help.  I used the address on your welcome message to me when I became a member, but never got a reply.  Tell everyone to ditch Norton if they want to stay on this Board. Thank you. Afan

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / AOL and hellish time signing on

For the past week, I have signed on and put in my password over and over. I am taken to the Current Talk-Testing Screen, but when I click, I am taken back to the sign in screen.  I have been so frustrated I have enjoyed this Board for at least a year, and I NEEDED to be on.  I have Norton Anti Virus on my machine, and I use AOL (two pieces of hell!).  My husband does not run Norton, he uses something else and generously offerred his machine and I am on!  What I would like to know is where to get in touch with someone when we run into so much difficulty. I have e-mailed until my fingers fell off, and felt so left out!  What can we do when we run into this kind of trouble again?  If I had not remembered reading someone else's misery about Norton, I would still be trying to access the Forum. Thanks for all that you do, but please fix an emergency number or line for difficulties.  Thank you. Afan

[hello][hello]  Loved the beautiful tri-colored rough collie.  We were proud owners of one for eleven years. Brought it for my two year old son (at the time), and the dog was named Stephen's Lad of Gwenkirk.  A real beauty in looks and actions. Still grieve for him.

Sorry, but we lost both of our FIV cats after all heroic efforts by our vet including several blood transfusions. We had to have a beloved l7 year old dog put down recently, and it was very traumatic.  He grew completely helpless and so it was the only alternative.

I remember feeding one of our cats with a medicine dropper many times a day in an effort to save him, but it didn't work.  We have never had a female with FIV, but still have every cat we own get the serum against this killer.  I know that it is a hard decision, and I feel for you. Afan

In answer to Jennifer's question, "where were the intelligent men?", while neither A or Q were the sharpest knives (pun intended) in the drawer, they were not idiots.  It just struck me as funny as A said that they could have a conversation about such obviously way out subjects as werewolves and magic hands with straight faces!
