Whew, I lucked out.  The Jeffster awarded me 89 curses and 2 cures.  I feel for you and your friends, so I 'cursed' you.  Hope your friends are doing better.

For April Fool's Day, I would sneak into Jeff Clark's room in the middle of the night. I would put a stocking cap over his head. Then, I would put his hands in containers of green Jello. I would sneak away. The next morning when Jeff wakes up, his hands are green and gooey and he would touch his hair, thinking his hair has fallen out. I would say: Happy April Fools' Day Jeff-Peter!

Ha Ha Ha!

Dylan, you little devil! >:D  Love it!

Well, MB,  that's what years of Catholic school will do to a person.  Ladies just don't  write or say certain words.  We just get 'creative' ;)

I would've given Julia a lover ---who stayed around longer than 1 week . . .he would've been tall, dark, handsome and had Patrick Stewart's voice . .and she would've been **busy**   [love3] with him --

Ahem...perhaps they would like to make it a threesome? >:D

ABC had good "sneak previews" between shows by '77, offering an exciting snipet of the following soap's story for that day, so viewers would stay tuned. Does anyone remember if they did that for DS? All I recall is during the end-credits for "One Life To Live," the announcer would say "Now stay tuned for DARK SHADOWS, next on most of these ABC stations."

How I wish DS would have shown a teaser for the next days show but, alas, they did not. :(

It's April Fool's Day!  Who on DS is ripe for pranking?  And how would you do it?

I would scribble down some ridiculous riddle for Willie to find and send him off on a wild goose chase so Barnabas and Julia could spend some time alone.  >:D  Or maybe I'd sew sleeves on Vicki's dresses and in the morning she'd open her armoire, stare at her wardrobe and utter "I don't understand!" ;)

Okay, cousins, let's hear your best April Fool's jokes!

Here's a brain-bender:  Would the kinder, gentler Angelique of 1840 have remained a transformed woman? ???

My take on it is that the first person who pi$$ed her off would send her back to her old destructive behavior.  Thoughts cousins?

Hi cousins!

If you had the power to revisit DS and change only ONE  moment on the show, which moment would you choose and what would the result be?

I think I would choose to have the ABC brass give Dan Curtis enough time to wrap up the 1841PT storyline and return to the present where all the loose ends would be resolved and everyone (esp. Julia and Barnabas) would live happily ever after. :)

Probably the safest place in a tornado would be the secret room in the mausoleum.  Barnabas, Julia and all the main characters would have to squeeze in there.  Afterward, Julia would have to hypnotize each of them to erase their memories of the secret room. ;D

With so much DS available online, it's hard to imagine paying for a fanzine subscription then waiting months and months to receive an issue. And by the time it arrives, the news is old.  On the other hand, I miss curling up in bed with the latest DS zine.  It's just not the same staring at a monitor... :( I especially miss Wyndcliffe Watch.  Any other fans of May's zine out there?

well i remember that(besides d.s.)abc always had the coolest soap operas.three biggies are still on."all my children","one life to live" and "general hospital".when i was a kid i watched those along with two defunct soaps,"ryan's hope" and "the edge of night".while not supernatural,i vaugely recall that t.e.o.n. had a dark, sinister quality to it.

Funny you should mention All My Children.  I started getting into it when they introduced the character of Palmer Cortlandt.  Seems his mansion was " haunted" and he had a beautiful daughter (much like a blonde Vicki) who kept hearing odd noises, and there was even a creepy housekeeper.  At the time, that storyline had a bit of a DS feel to it, so I kept watching.  I still catch it once in awhile.  Back in the day, ABC had all those great movies of the week (a few of them by Dan Curtis).  But now...I can't think of an ABC show that I watch with any regularity.  Not even Desperate Housewives - but I'm waiting for the summer reruns and I think I'll start watching it then.

Hmm...I think I'd choose the 1995 episode when Barnabas tells Julia "Not without you.  Never without you".Then I'd probably ruin the scene by yelling to Frid "KISS HER, you #$*($)#!!!!!"

Afterward, I'd hang out with Grayson and just listen to all her wonderful stories.  Then I'd corner Dan Curtis and demand to know why the series ended in godawful 1841PT.  Later, I think I'd like to discuss the gorgeous sets with Sy Tomashoff (sp?) and compliment Robert Cobert on his perfectly beautiful musical score.  Following this already full day, I'd join the DS gang at their favorite watering hole and just listen to all the talk about work and family and any good gossip. Then Grayson would invite me to her home for dinner with Sam and Matt, where I would hope she wouldn't cook anything too exotic because I'm a girl of simple tastes. ;)

Countess (who just lived out one of her many fantasies...)
