Current Talk '06 II / Re: Petofi's Hand
« on: December 27, 2006, 10:07:28 PM »
I always felt robbed of a good story without Petofi in the present day.  I once toyed around with a fanfic story(never finished) in which a mysterious fellow from the Far East comes to Collinsport in the 1970s under cover of darkness to threaten the Collinses - his name was Fang, and he was head of an underground cult of magician/assassins - his followers referred to him as "Death's right hand."  Of course, he turns out to be Count Petofi!

I remember that - and I so wish you had finished it!   [santa_wink]

I thought Northwest Florida was going to get lucky again, but the storm track changed sometime over night & it looks as if Francis is going to blow into the gulf after slamming the peninsula and head right up here to Pensacola!

Guess I may be experiencing my first real hurricane after all!   :o

If anyone is interested in purchasing the book, this is a good source:

Witchcraft: Its Power in the World Today
(hope I did that right....)

They have 20 or so copies listed, ranging from $2.50 paperbacks to over $50 for original hardcovers.

It's a nifty site.  I've been looking up old Lovecraft books on there.  I haven't ordered anything yet though, but this site was highly recommended to me by a book dealer, so I would guess they're reliable.

Thank you for postingthis information, Gothick!  I had always thought the idea of time travel via I Ching was an intriguing, but kinda silly idea, especially after reading up on the subject (Yup, the 1897 storyline made me run out & buy an I Ching book too - "I Ching in 10 Minutes" - woo hoo!  10 minutes & I too can travel to 1897  ;)  )

Unsolved Mysteries: I can remember lying awake at night after seeing the reportedly true stories of the unexplained on Unsolved Mysteries, worrying that I would be spontaneously combust or be abducted by aliens.

Ahhhhh!  Me too!

I've always been partial to Quantum Leap, Forever Knight, X-Files, Twin Peaks and lately Buffy and Angel.  I liked Friday the 13th the Series too.

No, I'm in Pensacola, FL.  They have a daily listing of celebrity birthdays.  Ususally its "mainstream" actors & musicians, but every now & then they suprise you.   This was one of those suprises.

Much to my delight, David Selby was listed in the celebrity birthday announcemnets in our local newspaper.     :)

Hope he had a very Happy one!

It seems I heard a rumor recently about a new Horror cable network that may be starting soon.  Perhaps they will pick it up.  Or, what about TVLand?

The blues have been so bad, I've quit my job and stopped excersising.

Heheh, well, actually I left my job last week for other reasons, but I guess I really can blame the lack of excersise on the DS dry spell since I'd do sit-ups during the commercial breaks.

Can't wait until tomorrow morning though!!! >:D

2 weeks!?!?!?!?!

*starts to feel the early stages of withdrawal kicking in*

It was just getting really good too.  This is my first time watching the 1840 stroyline.  Somehow I've always missed it in the past.
