Current Talk '03 I / Re:Ms. Barrett's/Charity's/Pansy's Dramatic Lines

I have to agree with everyone (and Grayson Hall) about Nancy's powerhouse performances. I think she is the only DS actor that I have never seen fluff a line once. I also happen to love her hair as Pansy Faye!

No idea about Petofi's,  I never noticed it at all. I do find it odd that he continues to wear ONE glove, and NOT on the disfigured, hideous "hand of Petofi"!

And if we are going to talk about Karl Malden's buttcrack nose, I just have to comment that Owen Wilson has one just like it.

Current Talk '03 I / Re:Quentin and his women

Here is how I see it. Quentin liked Beth and cared for her, maybe even loving her. But he was never IN LOVE with her, as you noticed, he still put the moves on any other pretty woman he saw.  Angelique certainly never did any more than intrigue him, and her bossiness grows wearisome in short order. Still, I think he was telling the truth that he would have married her if he hadn't happened onto Amanda. Suddenly, he is head over heels in love for the first time. Whether this is because of his redemption or because she is just the prettiest, most empty-headed thing he ever saw, is debatable. I vote for it being because she is supposed to be the prettiest. And yes, he would HAVE to be in love to not want to yank those muskrat eyelashes off.

The impression I have gotten from hearing DC talk on the dvds is that we can pretty much blame him for most of it. He had to make all the decisions whether he knew what he was deciding or not and would frequently change things at the last minute. Pretty much your typical nightmare boss. One thing that worked out in spite of him was his choice of Jonathon Frid. Even though he wasn't in town and didn't see any of the auditions, he chose Frid from a poor photograph that he couldn't even see very well. My question is, why didn't he let his casting director cast? I think we all lucked out on that one choice, but what a ridiculous way to run things.

Ohmigoodness, you were right! I have to confess that reading your post before (finally) watching Friday's show, I thought "Yeah, right." But, having seen it, I can think of no other explanation! I mean, taking it on the straight side, what explanation could there possibly be for Tim chucking Amanda aside like a used kleenix?! (Could it be her constant complaining? Her irritating voice?)

[stupid] It occurs to me that if I had the magic drawing ability the world would not be the better off for it. There would be a huge number of freefloating eyeballs and lips, for instance. Along with some strangely proportioned, rather unattractive people. I think I need to start drawing huge stacks of cash! [deal2]

The cast list I found shows Henry Baker as playing Istvan.

I have always found it ironic that Barney and Josette, the star crossed lovers, his ideal woman, blah, blah, blah---had ZERO chemistry together. Those two were as dull as dishwater.

I think it is funny how they used Quentin's Theme when he was a ghost and then they went back in time. No music for ever so long, but THEN, it was like one of the writers remembered "Oh yeah! The music!" Since then, it is played all the time. Did anyone else notice?

I do hate to see his descent too. . so far away from his youthful vampire, tongue-wagging days. . .I just always hope for a butt shot. . it cheers me up.

Can't argue with such truthful eloquence!

This isn't my favorite DS alumni movie, but it is certainly interesting from a social/moral perspective! And Grayson is always a professional, love her performance.

:-* Since we are all giving our opinion, I will chime in. I don't care for it either. At first, I thought, the cure/applause/whatever would be OK. Then when I thought about it, it seemed like high school with the popular pair getting the most points and being voted the homecoming king and queen! And the negative curse, I can live without most happily.  I can see how it could be thought of as fun and it isn't like I won't post if they have it here, but it isn't a feature that I find appealing.

Kuanyin, I don't know any details about the problem you were having, but a couple of things come to mind.  First off, following our move to an interim server about 3 weeks ago, emails were sent to all members on January 26 asking them to update their bookmarks in order to access the forums.  Secondly, there's a topic on this board called "Problems Accessing the New Board?" that you might want to check out to see if you can find your answer there.  Sorry, but I don't know what else to tell you right now.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I DID get the email. The only problem was that it had the same URL that I already had and did NOT bring me here. I did get a personalized "Kuanyin" with my error message, which was rather interesting....Then yesterday, I tried it (as I had every day) and it linked me here.

The conversion was only completed this afternoon, and no one has started any new topics since.  All the topics you're seeing on the boards were begun prior to Sunday afternoon when we went offline.

Welcome back. :)
Well, it IS good to be back. BUT, prior to SUNDAY AFTERNOON? I have tried to get here every single day for weeks and weeks!!! Why/how were others able to?
