Current Talk '02 I / Re: A Familiar Face In The Tribunal
« on: April 06, 2002, 04:50:13 PM »
After a little research the judge on the right was played by Tom Gorman who like many DS players had many different roles on DS, (ie, Blue Whale Bartender in '68 on Bob Rooney's day off?, Collinsport jailer Mr. Prescott, Blue Whale Customer, Willie Loomis almost wacks him with a beer bottle in an early ep).

Any others I missed????

I cant believe no one has mentioned tooth paste, (funky breath ICK)!

With all this talk about the Red Sox, (a very good team), we must not forget who won it all in '66 the year our favorite show began, (how bout them O's).

Also worth mentioning is that Jonathan Frid played in a theatrical version of Dial M For Murder in 1969.

Anyone remember seeing that?

The crossbow Nathan used would have to be included. Too bad he didnt know how to aim it properly.

Barnabas' Pistols would also have to be added. But please someone get the man a houlster, that tucking the pistole under the belt is just too suggestive. I am suprised the censors let that one go.

The dagger style letter opener in Blair House.

The various poisions and potions used by many of the characters, (I'll let someone else identify them individually).

I would vote Nicholas because he was just so damn intense and he recited his incantations with such authority.

Didnt Budwiser get sued by many frustrated service men over the saltpeter content in LA Beer???

They should have stuck with the Dr Pepper receipe, (the addition of prune juice) which gives that beverage its unusual taste. Dr Pepper which was invented by the US Army because its impossible to mix booze with it and have it taste good, (the honest truth).

Here are Byron's pics 1 being the best 10 being the least.

1. Lara Parker (This has been discussed at length in the, "Tell Me A story" post).
2. Alexandria Moltke (Warmest smile and pretiest face).
3. Nancy Barrett (Whats not to like???)
4. Blue Whale Dancer from 2nd episode that was doing the little side to side step. (She has no lines but looks good doing what she does).
5. Ruby Tate, (Like my women a little on the trashy side No apologies to Confederate Railroad).
6. Joanna Mills, (Have had dreams about this one that I would rather not go into here. The details may curl your hair).
7. Donna Wandrey, (When she had longer hair).
8. Hazar (Robin Lane also had sex appeal).
9. The Blue Whale Bar maid from 1841, (Again another one who has no lines and really doesnt need any!)
10. Marie Wallace, (Because I have a soft spot for red heads. She reminds me of one of my first girl friends).

if there was an 11th choice TLATKLS would fit there I guess, (sorry Ringo).

Midnite,
Thanks for posting the article. It was very interesting to hear Jonathan's take on how the show ended.

Jonathan's comments about his feelings toward the Barnabas character were also pretty definate, (never wanting to playing the character again). I am glad he  attended some of the festivals in spite of this.

Also did any of you get the impression that there were plans to do additional movies (other than HODS & NODS) by the tone of the article?

Minja,
You are right, Julia Duffy is married to Jerry Lacy. In fact I think she has attended some of the festivals in the past with Jerry.

As far as the Suki/Trask marriage that would be interesting. They are both very enterprising characters so I cant imagine who would wear the pants in that house.

I tend to follow Luciaphil's logic except I thought it was like the little man in our refrigerators who turn the light on and off every time the door opens and closes.

Robin you're 100% right the quick road to lunacy is trying to add consistent logic and theory to DS!

From a construction point of view the masoleum door could work without electronics, however it would not open as smoothly or as easily as shown on the show. There would also be more of a stone scrapping sound and the hindges to hold a door of that size and weight would have to be some extremely heavy duty YO MAMA hindges. Of course this type of hardware was used in Europe on Old castles, (ie on a drawbridge door) but again I have a problem seeing Willie opening this door in 1967 after 170+ years of no use, (and without oil or lubracant) or little David opening the door by himself.

But after all arent these the things that make TV great?

There should be a warning listed in the instructions to this game saying, "This game can cause temporary amnesia" The last time I played that is exactly what happened. I woke up the next day saying, "Did I win"?
