At last years DS Festival in Brooklyn, fans were asking Jim Pierson about DS cast members who havent yet appeared at conventions.  I should have asked about John Lassel as he is still alive.

His voice reminds me of Everett Ervett Horton (sp?).

I think they had John Lasell appear in every single episode until his last one.  That must have been hard for someone new to a series.
I liked Dr. Guthrie and wish they had kept him on the show.  Imagine him dealing with Barnabas! For a character who was made the one of the centers of this storyline for a couple of months, you never would have known he ever was there if you didn't see the Pre-Barnabas episodes.  When I first read the episode summaries of this period years ago, I was surprised how prominently he was used and then never mentioned ever again.
David and Sarah are standing in different places in the finale where she shows him the secret room for the first time and the teaser of the next episode.

Did they have DWI laws then?  Is this the Lt Riley with the thick NY accent?

I too have wondered why the actress playing Mrs. Pettibone wasn't in the credit.  Michael Stroka was and he didn't have a speaking role and appeared for a second.

I am surprised Monica Rich isn't mentioned on any DS board, or at least I never have seen any mention, as she had an interesting role in NODS.

I remember that "Arachnaphobia" (sp?) was originally presented as a comedy in the first trailer.  When the movie started to make a lot of money, a later trailer had a completely serious tone.

I never saw the movie myself but I have heard it wasn't really a comedy.

Current Talk '12 I / 1995 Collinwood photo

In the summary for the first episode in 1995, it states they use a photo of Collinwood they never showed before.  Does anyone have a screen capture of it?

Speaking of Amazon, someone needs to correct the cast listing on the titles on some of the DS DVD's.  There is a "Herbert Holcombe" listed as one of the stars.

Calendar Events / Announcements '12 I / OT: Other soaps from the DS time

Dan Curtis had a five person limit per show, mainly.  Did other soaps of the time have only a certain number of people in an episode?

By the time of Hallie's arrival, the ghosts of Quentin & beth have obviously been erased, so there isn't any reason for him to think otherwise.

I often wonder if this line is to give them the freedom to re-write stories, as the did with the two episode 1796 arc at the end of 1897, or if it was to cover their tracks when they goofed!

I think of those two episodes as being a fantasy brought on by the Leviathans to trap Barnabas

When Vicky is lying on the couch after returning from the past, she says something that causes Barnabas to make a face realizing that she did go to 1795.
