Current Talk '07 I / Re: What Happened To Joe Haskell?
« on: May 27, 2007, 01:38:34 PM »
Count me in as a devoted Joe Haskell fan!! I always liked him and wish they would have given him more interesting things to do.

As for what happened? Well, he didn't really go mad, since IMHO that was not the best of choices the writers could have made, although he did suffer severe anxiety given the things he had endured. After receiving treatment at Windcliff, he returned to Collinsport where he and Maggie got back together, married and lived happily ever after. So there!  :) 8)

Is this too optimistic an outlook for Dark Shadows? Maybe so, but I'm all for a bit of happiness for the characters.

I really thought Carolyn grew up during the 1968-1969 story line. After being abducted by Adam, she came to realize that the whole world didn't always revolve around her. If nothing else, Adam taught her compassion she might have never learned otherwise.

Also, we got to see her with Tony, although not very much, but still, he helped her move somewhat beyond the spoiled rich girl.

I feel sorry for Dave Woodard in this episode. He is trying so hard to figure out what happened to Maggie, but Julia isn't giving him much to go on, and she's getting really snappish towards him.  >:(

I really like this episode, it's so intense! Just when you think Josette is going to spill out everything, Barnabas stops it!

Alexandra Moldkee did an excellent job portraying Josette's terror. Actually, I very much enjoyed everyone's performance in this episode.  8)

This is just such great news, that Jonathan will be attending the fest! How wonderful!  8)

I've never seen him in person, what a treat that would be. Too bad I can't go!  :( :'(

However, I will be there in spirit, and with a show like DS, that's saying something.  :D ;D

Having said all that, I wish him the best of times at the fest and hope he will enjoy himself.

Current Talk '07 I / Re: Is it just me, or was Charity more likable...

But now I'm getting off the topic of the question. Yes, Charity was most definitely more fun and interesting.

I meant to say Panzie was more fun and interesting.  :-[

None of the characters (except maybe Judith) had any qualms whatsoever about leaving Charity as Pansy for the rest of her life. From the point of view of DS in general, so what if it's a curse, so what if someone's real personality is destroyed... so what if the new personality is 'immoral'? She's happier, she's more fun to be around, so good riddance to Charity.

These were my thoughts also, as I began to realize that Charity wasn't going to return to her former self, and no one really cared if she had been so drastically transformed in to another personality. Shouldn't someone have been concerned that she had been so completely altered? If a similar curse had been placed on say Elizabeth or Quentin for example, it's pretty certain someone, most likely barnabas, would have cared and seen to it that the situation was remedied. But since it was plain old Charity, who nobody really liked, it was fine if she remained Panzie.  :(

But now I'm getting off the topic of the question. Yes, Charity was most definitely more fun and interesting.
