While Vicki is alone in the drawing room, she hears strange sounds and the lights go out--but apparently not from any supernatural cause. Oh well.

Welcome to the famous car set! Its windshield wipers work perfectly--and stay perfectly dry.

David plays "Chopsticks" on the grand piano, but it helps him not at all.

Elizabeth is very tough on, and very distant and formal to, "Miss Winters." It's only because she knows David is the guilty party, but she can't admit it to herself yet.

David hitchhikes to town--unthinkable now.

Our first real storm at Collinwood--the first of many!  [ghost_grin]

Even in these early days, Carolyn's devotion to her mother--and Elizabeth's devotion to her--is very clear and wonderfully portrayed by JB and NB.

I'm sure that phone booth is bigger on the inside than on the outside!  [ghost_smiley]

At some point David casually mentions hitchhiking into town--certainly a more dangerous option now.

Your comment about the corners reminds me of that story about the Winchester heiress who had her house built without any right angles. She was afraid she would be haunted by the ghosts of the people who had been killed by the rifle her father (I think) invented. It also makes me think of The Legend of Hell House--the original movie, that is. [ghost_blink]

I think Burke is too hard on poor Bronson--dragging him up to darkest Bangor at a moment's notice and complaining that Bronson doesn't have everything he wants, even though Bronson says it took him a month to assemble what he's brought.

Of course, if Collins Enterprises had been a publicly traded company, its profit and loss statements would be a matter of public record. But I can't imagine the Mistress of Collinwood wanting any kind of publicity, or anyone else in the family wanting to share the profits.

It's intriguing to imagine what Burke could find out in this day and age by employing hackers.

Possibly in honor of his recent promotion from constable!  [ghost_wink]

LE can be seen bouncing up and down in the background--warming up for his next scene?--just before the scene where Maggie induces David to stay in the diner by promising he can make his own ice cream sundae.

When Maggie asks Roger how David could have disappeared so quickly, Roger replies flippantly, It's because of spells and incantations.  [ghost_grin]

Really the only sighting in regular time? I seem to remember more, but....

You can just barely make out the rabbit ears!  [ghost_cheesy]

Hail and farewell, Barnard Hughes!

Burke settles down for a good read, then is furious when he finds out the sheriff searched his suite, then he finds out that a "little boy" tried to sneak into his room.

I suspect David now realizes he has an ally in his aunt. Plus, as we will learn in a few weeks, [spoiler]he has the Old House to play in, and what could beat that?[/spoiler] In any case, Collinwood certainly wins hands down over whatever military school Roger would prefer to dispatch him to.

The door to the West Wing is locked probably to keep David out, ha ha ha. But I'm sure he has a key. I suspect it's locked because that part of the house is not in use.

I never noticed the LBJ photo before--thanks, Midnite!

And oh yes, I think that back in those primitive times, Burke would have opted for Vicki.  [ghost_rolleyes]

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that he tried--but I'm sure Elizabeth would put her foot down. I can't see someone of her integrity allowing Roger to rig an election.
