I kind of like the way Alejandra left the series.  She literally "exited stage left," never to be seen again.  Sad though.

Wow, you can sure feel "transition" written all over this episode, with an old storyline wrapping up and a new one just beginning to unwrap.  Also, I counted no fewer than nine names in the closing credits today.  Is that a record for never-more-than-five-actors-at-a-time Dan Curtis?

AM looks gorgeous in that wedding dress.  I remember these pseudo-wedding episodes from when I was a kid back in '68 and how disappointed I was when it fell through.

Once again, a character is able to singlehandedly lift a coffin out of a 6-foot deep hole, after of course digging through all that dirt with a simple shovel.

I do like the reversal of roles, but one thing I never could into is how everyone acts after being bitten. It's scene after scene about the dogs, the light, and nightfall. It's almost as you can predict what each character will say after being bitten.

And there's such an inconsistency.  Some get so exhausted they can barely stand.  Then, there are others, like Carolyn and Jeff, who are just brimming over with vim and vigor after they're bitten.

Did I mishear or did the jailor call her Gloria Winters?

OMG...one of my all-time favorite scenes in DS, the confrontation between Julia and Nicholas.  There is nothing like two strong characters squaring off against one another to generate great drama.   In truth, Grayson never used those gloves to greater dramatic effect than she does here.  Give the girl her Emmy.

And the scene between Nicholas and Angelique is not far behind.  Truly a top-drawer episode all around!

That line about trees losing their leaves in the fall struck me as strange since that never seemed to happen to the trees in Collinsport.  Despite their being in Maine, the trees seemed to hang onto their leaves year-round.

Yes, and Stokes cattily critcizing Nicholas' taste in furniture - utterly priceless!

I'm a bit confused as to why we were led to believe that Barnabas and Julia were at the Old House when they were in the main house all along.  At first, I thought Julia's room might have been Barnabas' at the OH.  I'm just not sure why the writers wrote it that way since it really didn't add anything to the story and, in fact,  added a note of unnecessary confusion to the whole scenario.

It was nice to see much of the original cast back together in this episode.  That seemed to happen less and less frequently as the series went on.

The scene with Adam listening behind the door was well played, on the part of both Adam and Carolyn.

I wonder how the other actors felt when one of the cast obviously hadn't studied the script sufficiently the night before.  After all, it wasn't as if the unschooled one was going down in flames alone.  I can imagine an always-prepared Astredo thinking to himself in a scene such as this one, "Why do I have to be surrounded by such rank amateurs?  It's my reputation, too, they're bringing down with them in this scene, dammit!".

Great acting by Jonathan in the scene where he turns on Adam in full sneer, saying that Adam isn't the only one who'll miss Carolyn.  Definitely one of his best moments ever!

Nancy Barrett does some of her best acting in this episode.  I love her coolness in her scenes with Barnabas - forceful yet understated at one and the same time.
