Not likely.  The weekend was very bad for me.  We have to bring our daughter back to school.

Patti,
Yankee Doodle Dandy is on tonight at 8:00 p.m. on TCM.  It is a great film.  {A note of Birdie trivia}.  My mother claims that my grandfather knew the real George M. Cohen when he lived in the Brookfields in MA.  I have my grandmothers sheet music to Over There framed in my kitchen.

Happy 4th to all.  Got to get back to making fruit salad, spinach salad, and skew the meat for todays shin-dig.  Why am I always the one who gets to host these things.

Loved the Quentin story line as a ghost.  As Cassandra said truly one of the scariest story lines on DS and it doesn't lose it 35 years later.

Of course, I would love to take the human Quentin home with me.  Don't tell my husband.

I really liked him when he first appeared as the vampire.  The charactor was so complex.

Happy Anniversay to both Patti, and Jennifer!

Mark, it is fairly common for young adults of your daughters age to get consumed in dept.  My nephew did the same thing.  I am pretty sure his folks bailed him out.  We are trying our very best to instill opon our children the value of money, and to advise them not to get in the dept. hole.  We have helped the older two out with college and they have also had to work for it.  Both of them will come out with a small amount of dept, compared to there peers.  Thanks for the heads up about the years coming up only to soon.  I guess we do the best we can and hope that somehow something in the end sinks in.

Debra,  good luck with your daughter.  I am sure you have asked her anything going on a school, or with friends?  What I tell my kids is my biggest regret is not finishing college.

To all, we are in this together, and this is a great place to vent and get some support.

Patti,
Hang in there girl friend.  I know where you are coming from.  My life is crazy four drivers two cars.  Of course, there are also four jobs.  We need another car!  This is not the time for us to buy one.  I think might remember we put a pool in last year and I don't want to finance another thing.  We must have been crazy to have gone ahead and put the pool in.  What were we thinking two kids in college.  O.K., stop feeling sorry for myself we have really enjoyed it with the hot weather that poured into N.E. this past week.  I will quote my mom, Things will work themselves out.  In the mean time I think I will be pulling my hair out

Another thing my back yard is filled with 14 and l5 year olds.  I think there are any number of water balloons thrown around the yard.

I have cousins who would swear that the "Aunt" mentioned would be my mother.  Never afraid to say anything or embarass someone.   But also the first one to be there if ther was a problem or emergancy. She is one of a kind and bless her pointy head.

Bob, I do remember those guys but never the height of hair.  Makes me want to see anyone of those movies or shows to see if my memory is failing me.  Of course, we won't discuss what my hair looked like in the early 70's, not pretty.  Thick curly hair is not pretty long.

Don't laugh I once met a guy who wore a medallion similar to Bruno's.  Danced with him at a local club, when yes I was underage, my best friend gave him my phone number.  Friends like that.  We were just laughing about that the other day.  The poor guy called me for weeks.

The medallion thing just turned me off, and made me laugh even at l7.  He did not have big hair, that would have put me over the top.

Birdie--why do I tell you guys all these crazy stories

I saw it during the original run and it was great.  Even the hubby enjoy the scence with "The Beautiful One".

I took the easy way out and ordered our copy off Amazon.  I got a notice that it would be here by the 25th.  Surpise it arrived the 21st.  My daughter ran down to the mail box, the mail man was announcing "Here Comes Harry".   She is already half way through it, and the rest of the house are calling dibs on who gets it next.  The older two are rereading the first one's while they wait.  I paid $l7.99, and it was well worth not having to get up Sat. morning anc racing to the book store.  It was a mad house at our local book store on summer reading night never mind for the arrival of book 5.
