I have a fan made book called "Fangs for the Memories" about the early DS festivals and it was full of photos of DS fans, many no longer with us.

I forgot who wrote it though, I'll have to check when I get home.

Wasn't future General Hospital executive producer Gloria Monty, then the producer of Secret Storm, who allowed this?

If JC was on Dark Shadows, would she have had her daughter Christina on as well?

At least we get an acknowledgement of Vicky accepting that Burke is dead.  For her, its been a few months since his plane crash.

Current Talk '13 I / The other Barnabas and Julia following PT 1970
« on: March 26, 2013, 01:53:23 AM »
I don't think I have ever heard any mention of this in all of the years I have been in DS fandom.

When Barnabas, Julia, & Stokes return to 1971 from 1841, Elizabeth mentions the opening of the "Collinsport Historical Society", which Roger is giving a speech at.  She shows no surprise at seeing the three of them as if they were gone for months and even mentions to them that they know about the making of the CHS!

Apparently there was a Barnabas & Julia who Liz and everyone was seeing following their return from Parallel Time up until their arrival from 1841.  This time, the summer of 1970 to January 1971, everything was peaceful and nothing out of the ordinary happened for the first time in years.

Did B2 & J 2 merge with B1 & J 1 when they returned to the present and then B1 and J1 both lost the memories of Gerard & Daphne altogether, probably soon after?

She wouldn't have lasted that long.

I wonder why Vicky was surprised at Barnabas marrying Angelique at all.  In the present time, Barnabas never mentioned who the "original" Barnabas married.

Given the way Jeremiah appears and disappears so fast, it must have been his ghost coming out of the grave, not his body.

Its odd that they wrapped up Jeremiahs head that way, I wonder why they didn't just recast.

I never understood the tree test.  Trask didn't seem surprised the tree was burnt, I guess he is that much of a fanatic.  If Vicky was still there tied to the tree, what would he have done then?

Current Talk '13 I / Had Curtis hired a different cast for 1795
« on: January 08, 2013, 04:55:19 PM »
I know this is really stretching things with DC's known penny pinching, but what if he decided to hire a new cast for 1795, with the exception of Frid, Smythe, Moltke, & possibly Scott?

Would the audience have accepted the change?  I think it's possible they would have warmed up over time.
When the show returned to the present it probably would feel like seeing a show return after the summer break (which in a way it did to me with the same cast anyway).

Current Talk '12 II / Re: If Dark Shadows ever did a Christmas Storyline?
« on: December 26, 2012, 07:15:19 PM »
In December 1967, during the 1795 storyline it was actually appropriate they didn't mention Christmas as during that time period, Christmas wasn't allowed in New England I believe.

The same goes for December 1970 during the 1840 storyline.

They could have had a holiday episode during December 1968 as they were in transition of stories and there were some filler like episodes.

Thats an interesting article.  So, Burke was not meant to be written out after all and neither Jeremiah.

Yes, and if Carolyn ran home and told Liz and Roger, they would have to believe her.  And then the Barnabas story would have to wind down.

I wonder what could have prevented this had Carolyn taken the toy soldier?  Perhaps Barnabas would have been alarmed to see it and back off with Sarah in his thoughts?

Current Talk '12 II / A real life Sandor Petofi!
« on: November 20, 2012, 05:50:12 PM »
I found this on Wikipedia:

1849 – Sándor Petőfi (26), Hungarian poet and liberal revolutionary, one of the key figures of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. Petőfi was last seen in Transylvania during the Battle of Segesvár. Although there are many different theories and rumours about his supposed death or deportation to Siberia neither his body nor genuine records to support the theories were ever found.
