Spoilers ahead:

I thought GH's introduction, that evil keeps no set business hours was funny!

I immensely enjoy watching Carolyn and Tony together. He won't put up with any of her nonsense. Finally, a guy who can put Carolyn in her place!  8)

Carolyn is extremely horrible to Julia, taunting her. She seems to enjoy being under Barnabas's power more and more each day.

Too bad we didn't get to see Barnabas go to Barbados during the 1795 story line. Which reminds me, in the beginning of 1795 Barnabas says he doesn't believe in witchcraft, but clearly in the present, he's using magic taught to him by a warlock whom he obviously seemed to think was legitimate. Of course he would have experienced Angelique's power, but then again perhaps not, since before Vicki traveled back in time, it was philis Wick who was tried and hanged for witchcraft, not Vicki. I can't see her unleashing all that havoc on the Collins family, since it's doubtless she was ever in love with barnabas and therefore had no reason to seek revenge.

On the other hand, Vicki did travel back in time, so events unfolded differently, but which scenario is accurate? It gives me a headache just thinking about it.

Sunny_Collins, as a very small response to your request for descriptions...I hope you're familiar with how the grandfather clock looks: very ornate, with lots of carving.  I've always loved it.

Thanks so much for the description, Lydia! I really appreciate it.  :)

What can I say about this episode, Roger is uncaring and selfish! It doesn't seem to bother him much that one of his workers is using all his savings just to get by!  >:(

I love Tony Peterson. He doesn't easily give in to Carolyn's charms. He really feels sympathetic towards julia, and sincerely wants to help her.

Poor Julia, she's under so much stress, but at least she has someone who will keep the notebook hidden.

A very happy birthday, MsCriseyde!  :)

No one can ever play Julia the way she so excellently did. It's great we have the DVDs so we can continue to celebrate her life, even though she is gone.

Carolyn is only making Liz suspicious and worried about her when she behaved so rudely towards Julia.

It was great how Julia confronted Barnabas, even going so far as to say they need not be enemies. Too bad he didn't see things her way.

When Barnabas tells Julia he wants Vicki and that's all he cares about, he sounds quite childish.

I like how Liz forced Carolyn to apologize to Julia, even if the apology was insincere.

This episode ends on a really great cliffhanger!

Current Talk '07 II / Looks like DS: descriptions
« on: August 05, 2007, 11:57:53 PM »
Hello, cousins:

I have an extremely big request to make.

It's always fascinating for me to read your descriptions when we discuss the episodes, or any other parts of DS.

Being visually impaired (I'm totally blind), it's always nice to hear how others observe the gestures and actions I miss out on.

So here's my favor: I would most appreciate it if you could all describe things in DS such as what Collinwood and the Old House look like, the exterior and interior of each house, or you could just choose a room to describe, whichever you prefer.

Things like jewelry people wear, their clothing, hairstyles, the fountain, the gazebo, the infamous candles, almost anything you can think of to describe would be great!

Fortunately most of the show doesn't rely on visual affects to tell the story, for which I'm grateful, but it's the small details such as characters appearances and expressions on people's faces that I miss out on and find very interesting.

Doubtless I will be pestering everyone for anything that might be forgotten, or as I watch the show, but I'll try not to do it too much.

I hope this isn't too much of a strange request to make.  :-[ :-

I hope this is all right to post, and anyone's help would be most welcome.  :)

There was a fire in the studio and you can hear the fire extinguishers in the background.  In an interview much later, Frid said he heard the commotion and smelled the smoke, and waiting for the director to stop the scene.  He said he trying to decide whether or not to stop the scene himself as he was not about to "die for the service of Dark Shadows."  Something like that quote.

They really and truly did not stop for much on that show, lol.

Oh my heavens, are you serious, Nancy? I don't blame him for wondering if they were going to continue the scene what with a fire happening. Knowing DC, if the fire would have gotten too much out of hand, they would have simply worked a brief story line in to incorporate a fire on the set!  ;D

I agree that the hypnotism scenes with Vicki are mainly filler. I mean, really, how many times do we have to see Julia lead Vicki to the Old House and warn her to stay away from blood-thirsty Barnabas?

I guess that  everyone else had to get their fittings for the show, and 1795.  Barnabas already had one set of clothes.   GH and  NB didn't really have big parts in 1795. At least that is what I remember.

GH played the countess DuPres, and NB Millicent Collins and they were in the 1795 story line quite a bit.

I really enjoyed Clarice Blackburn's reading of the intro today. Too bad she didn't do it more often.

Carolyn is so creepy under Barnabas's power.

I liked how Maggie vaguely recalled an uneasiness in Carolyn's action of touching her scarf, and of the dogs howling.

Julia was in top form in this episode, when she defiantly tells Barnabas that Carolyn won't find the notebook.

Not much happening in this episode, accept for people changing their minds a lot. Carolyn changing her mind about David going away and Vicki not thrilled to be going to Boston, then the next thing, she is.

Vicki must be getting tired of Julia asking her to compare the two crystals, but she's nice enough not to tell her so. Julia needs to find a different approach to hypnotizing people. I can't remember if this is the last hypnotism scene with Vicki, but I hope so.

Now Julia is in serious trouble with Barnabas thanks to Carolyn's tattling.
