Current Talk '13 II / Wolf Moon Rising novel
« on: August 27, 2013, 11:56:05 PM »
I just finished the new book "Dark Shadows: Wolf Moon Rising".

Either Lara Parker didn't do her research or this is the aftereffect of the 1840 storyline. I liked the story in the present time but the 1929 part was too much- bootleggers, the Klan, Liz a movie star and in a romance with her great uncle Quentin!

This also makes both Liz and Roger a decade older then they should be.

And one thing that always irritates me more then anything else: Can a story ever include Jamison's nameless wife???

How could there be a daguerreotype of Trask since he died 2 decades before they came to being?
In 1897, Barnabas doesn't seem to care how he ruins the lives of others and causing history to change because of it.  Other then Quentin & Jamison,  he could care less about the other people.  When first watching 1897 and his killing of Carl and being responsible directly/indirectly for the deaths of Dirk, Sandor, Rachael, &  Pansy, I was afraid he would kill Nora when one episode ended with her seeing him about to attack someone as a vampire.  Before the next episode aired the next day, I was nervously wondering what he he was going to do to her. ]
When watching that particular episode for the first time (with Nora), did anyone else think he would do something as he did the others?

For Barnabas to be admitted into a hospital and knocked unconscious, could the car have crashed into a bed of garlic that managed to get into Barnabas' system?

I'm surprised they didn't have the barmaid read the voiceover as it was always done by a woman.

Actually, I never heard of route 9 but here in Queens, Queens Boulevard is know as "the boulevard of death" as it is dangerous to cross and has had many deaths and car accidents.

Now that Vicky has seen the secret room in the mausoleum, she should realize David was right and that what he said about the coffin and Barnabas may be right too.

When was Barnabas' coffin moved from the mausoleum to the Old House?

Actually the word "vampire" was first used in the episode when Angelique goes with Ben to Barnabas' coffin to stake him.  She asks "Have you ever heard of the word vampire"?

This is probably the second time it's been used.

Current Talk '13 I / Disturbing DS Episodes
« on: April 23, 2013, 04:35:32 PM »
This site has a list of the most disturbing television shows ever:

Are there any episodes of DS that you would put into this category?

For me, its the episode when David runs out of the mausoleum he was trapped in and into the hands of Barnabas.  It's running from one danger right into the one person you are scared of that could kill and dispose you easily.

In addition to Lamarr, there had to be an older son to carry the name to Gregory.

I thought that maybe the mother of Abigail, Joshua, & Jeremiah may have died in childbirth or shortly after and Abigail may have raised Jeremiah herself but that doesnt seem likely as she isn't the motherly type at all.  Perhaps Naomi took care of both of them and thats why Jeremiah ignores her a lot.

It was mentioned early on that Abigail took after her mother and she may have taken her words more extreme.

Going by the ages of Abigail & Joshua, their parents really must have been old when Jeremiah came along.  He probably didn't know either of them well.
