and lets not forget the benevolent Dr. Dave Woodard and his admirable bedside manner when Haskell and Sam came to the hospital to demand info on Maggies condition after her ordeal as Barn captive........he had just delivered twins in adjacent operating room but still managed to keep his cool.........just think......twins in collinsport...... :P

Does anyone know why Sam was recast so soon in the series?.......i thought the other chap was doing a fine job....and seemed to fit the bill as troubled, starving artist with a drinking problem.

ok the one i really hoot over is when he picks up the rifle and holds adam at bay while trying to tell Julia to go and get some help......he stumbles over 3 or 4 other names before he locks on Julia......then after Julia leaves, adam and barnabas fight and the rifle barn has gets the barrel knocked off of it......just funny stuff :o

Ryan all the way, except i could never see him dressed circa 1795, or attending Barnabas costume party in 1967.  Wish he woulda stayed on until after intro of Barn----now that would of been trippy seeing Ryans Devlin and Barnabas trading lines and inuendos. (sic?) ::)

Speaking of Stokes-----i always thought his laugh was the most realistic and funny------followed a close second tie between angelique and her evil little chuckle laugh and quentins roarasly evil and taunting laugh

Current Talk '04 I / Are the production slates on dvd?

Does the DVD series 1-13 have the production slates at the start of each ep? I sure enjoy that feature on the collector series vhs! :D

IMO, and i have seen the series back and forth all the way through.....if one really wants to see what makes Roger, Liz, and to a large extent Carolyn also tick, you have to watch the collectors series-i.e. pre barnabas......i feel like some of the prior posters that due to plot incentives for viewership numbers that each of those above mentioned characters loses some identity, whether it was from the fact we would go weeks without seeing Roger, or Liz being buried alive, or Carolyn trying to care for Adam...etc.....i appreciate MPI for having the foresite to release all the early eps just for that reason.......to truly appreciate those early characters and really seeing gothic drama at its best......still unequalled over all these years. 8)

being a newbie i just got around to this thread and i have had a few (big) belly laughs.........and then i thought of maybe the only time Barnabas looked happy......when he had that ear to ear grin after watching warlock blair go up in flames............i dont ever remember Barnabas being that happy in any other episode......

2 points off my chest.......first......watching the last vikki (groves) go to the gallows while bradford and barn watched...shame on the writers cause the winters character would never go to the noose without a fight, even though the plot had her kind of wanting that next world with bradford... to watch her so emotionless during the march to the gallow and all of it...was a let down......

Second..........does anyone else think that the Nicholas Blair character looks like Errol Flynn?
