I love this episode.  I think it was almost flawless except for the one time where BC forgets the myrhh and other spices he needs to "calm" the zombie down ( poor JF it seems ha may have had his back to the teleprompter) If I'm alone at home watching this and (Believe me I live out in the country with no neighbors) I still get scared. I love the fact that Ol Barn does come back and check on Rachel before dawn comes.  I was also thrown off a bit because Judith seems to accept all this without really figuring out (could she?) what the hell was happening with her dysfunctional family.  Great Episode!

FYI..I already made reservations for the Renaissance Hotel in Elizabeth New Jersey. August 15th I believe.  Bad timing though as the new school year/teaching starts.  Oh well its now or never for me as my family may not want me to drag them next year.  Got all the info from Marie Wallace's website (thank God for Marie's Website.) I think I also picked up info from JF's website too.  In any case, marie's has all the stuff on the festival.

Well, I never thought of the Countess as looking similar to Dr. Frank n Furter but now that you mention it...angular face, similar cut hair, lovely eyes..possibly.  But singing..no!!!

Current Talk '08 II / Re: Maggie Escapes

Happy New Year everyone.  I was thinking that maybe he did not kill her either was because he actually began to care for her and others too but Maggie especially.  Maybe he could not go through with it despite his strength.  Yes, I know if Maggie was discovered his plans and discovery would be all screwed up again. However, he sure threatened her enough but he never actually did her any real physical harm..mental agony yes but not any real physical harm.  For all his interest in Victoria he always kept his interest in Maggie too.   For the rest of the show they had a type of bond and maybe it stemmed from that encounter.

Current Talk '08 II / Re: What if? - - - Barnabas and Angelique
« on: December 28, 2008, 04:22:32 AM »
When was Angelique truly obedient?  Please! How could she? It was in no way in her nature. She was obsessive-compulsive, jealous, hard to get along with, self-serving, and only cared for her own pleasures.  She was also determined to get people out of the way who crossed her path.  The only time i kinda knew she was sort of helpful was [spoiler]during the 1897 storyline when she helped Barnabas with the doppleganger.[/spoiler] Other than that I figure she would not be a loving and devoted wife.  Who could live with that kinda stress?  Barnabas Collins?  No way.   And if he for any reason looked at another woman?  God help him!

I don't think Barnabas killed either Sam or Maggie because it would not have made any sense to the storyline. If Maggie or Sam would have died where would that story have gone?  I know Barnabas with his strength  would not have had a problem killing Sam as he (Sam) was so preoccupied with seeing  Maggie after all the stress of her kidnapping but maybe he thought there were others around as already stated so why risk it?  I'm glad he did not kill them.  Barnabas would have been left as a truly vicious monster with no guilt for the sadness he caused those that cared for Maggie.

No. My mom never cautioned me about Barnabas and his women as I am sure she would have wanted to be one of them.  She is 74 and still thinks JF is hot. In actuality, my dauhters are reading Twilight and they know what healthy and unhealthy relationships are because we have been communicating about these situations for years now.  My girls are in high school and pretty headstrong about things dealing with the opposite sex.  And no disrespect to Twilight but it stands no where near the brilliance of DS.  Think about it..this show ended 37 years ago and heck it still is going strong with the fans both young and old.  That is amazing.

Welcome Khantael!  I've never heard of the DS faulty memory syndrome but when ever my memory about DS gets a little fuzzy I just  watch certain shows  and try to get it straight before I comment so I don't seem as to suffer from it!!  Yes that article was full on inaccuracie [santa_smiley] s.... Victoria Winters a doppleganger??  Josette in one dress??? White at that?  Please.  Oh well it did give me laugh as the author is beyond DSFMS..I guess she has terminal DSFMS.      [santa_smiley]     [santa_rolleyes]

Calendar Events / Announcements '08 II / Edward Cullen and Barnabas Collins
« on: November 24, 2008, 04:02:20 AM »
Well, This past summer, in between teaching assignments, I read Twilight not knowing it was geared for my junior high students as well as high school students..I was just browsing for some vampire material. Initially I found it fairly enjoyable until the mushiness of the characters kept interupting the storyline( more than 3/4 of the way into the book) so I did what I never do.. I stopped reading the book.  When school started, OMG, all my students were reading it.  My own daughters, who give me such a hard time about my fascination with Barnabas and DS, now cannot put the book down..they are into the second book and it seems soon into the third and fourth book.  Let me tell you Edward Cullen has nothing on Barnabas.  Again what is this fascination with vampires?  My own family cannot see that their fascination with Edward is the same thing as my love of the Collins family.  Is their a connection?  Cullen/Collins?    Many of Edward's characterisitcs are no different from Barnabas'.  Anyway as I always say Long Live DS!!
