I told someone about 15 years ago that you would never see bell bottoms again!  While they are not the exactly the same, they look close enough these days!

So, anythings possible.  I just hope it's after my kids grow up.  I couldn't imagine buying clothes for my kids that look like David's wardrobe.

Spoilers!!!!

Without a doubt, during the Quentin's ghost storyline, I love the scene at the end of the episode that Quentin drives the whole family out of Collinwood.  Roger, before he closes the door, yells, "We'll be back, I promise you that" or something to that effect.  The camera then pans through all the main rooms of the great house and all you hear is Quentins theme and finally you see his ghost on top of the stairs laughing.

To me, that was one of the better moments in the series.  I loved the whole episode, but that final scene, I could watch over and over.

I know, I know.  I thought long and hard about posting that! :)

I guess I said that as sort of a confession.  I'll try harder next time the curse comes around.

I've been a bad boy! :'(

I have finally gotten to the point in the series where I have seen every episode.  I always tape the show and watch it with my wife after work.  This is the first time she has seen these episodes at this point, but I find myself tempted to fast foward through most of the dream curse until they come to the last door.

I didn't because my wife hasn't seen them, but on the last one, she told me to fast foward.  I love Dark Shadows and have so since I was young, but the Dream Curse sequences and even the characters passing along the curse by telling their dream to someone else is really getting ....  well you know.

Once again, I can't wait for Nicolas Blair to knock on the front door of Collinwood for the first time!!! :)

Dr. Eric Lang....

He may be dead, but his words will live on... as long as there is a tape recorder handy.

He truly lived and died for his work.

There's something that comes to mind from when I first watched Dark Shadows when I was a little girl in the 60's. I'm pretty sure David was punished by Quentin or his ghost at some point. I recall David saying that Quentin was hurting him, like he was being burned by his touch or something like that. Anyone else remember it?

Your memory is correct.  In order to get David to follow his instructions, Quentin's ghost indeed did punish him when he was insolent or had not done as he was told to do.

One scene did include Quentin's ghost grabbing his arm or shoulder and David screaming out that it burned.

Had a recurring dream for YEARS in which I was back in high school as an adult. Had to go back and finish it (again, I DID graduate). Yecchhh, my version of hell. Oh, and never could remember my locker number.

Mine is very similar... every few months, I dream I'm at school with about 5 minutes before the bell rings in the morning.  I can't find my locker, don't have any books, and can't remember what my first class was.  I've been out of school for 16 years now, and I still have that one all the time.  Anyway, I just go to one of the classes I knew I had during the day and sit down.  That is usually where it ends.

Julia's dream....

She turns to see Barnabas smiling at her.  He reaches for her in the broad daylight and gently touches her cheek.

"Julia, my dear.  I have been a fool.  All this time I have been searching for that one woman to spend my life with, and all I had to do was look right in front of me the whole time."

...Now, don't tell me she would have never had that dream.

Karlen is one actor I always admired on DS, but didn't fully appreciate until I saw as an adult.

I am the same way... If anyone doubts his talents, all you have to do is watch Wednesday's episodes.  His talents shine through as he portray's a man who borders on insanity and confusion.  He was a terrible man before he met Barnabus, but even at that, he went through extremely terrible experiences.  Today, we saw a little of the old Willie, a little of an insane Willie and a very sad Willie.  It was a tremendous performance on Karlen's part.

When you think about it, almost everyone lies on the show!!!

Yes, Vicky was the exception and she sure got herself into a lot of trouble for her honesty, and it didn't help when Peter Bradford decided to be honest in the trial.

Professor Stokes is a pretty honest guy, though he just doesn't blurt out everything that comes to his mind.  I always got the impression he knew more about the things going on around him than he let on, but that doesn't make him a liar. :P

I guess it wouldn't make for good drama if everyone told the truth on this and other shows (especially soaps).

If they would just tell the truth from the beginning, it would save everyone some grief.

Current Talk '02 I / Sorry, the dog ate my script!
« on: May 14, 2002, 07:14:24 PM »
Is it just me, or is everyone having problems with their lines on the most recent episodes?  Monday was a hoot, because they looked at the teleprompter more than they looked at the other actors.

I know this happens all the time on the show, but yesterday was bad.  I can think of two reasons for the possible drop off in the actors delivery of their lines...

... the actors didn't like or understand the direction the show was going in at the time.

or

... there were a lot of rewrites to the script right before taping the show.

I'm looking foward to Nicolas Blair showing up.  It seems to bring a breath of fresh air to the show.

Please tell me if I dreamed this one... but I seem to remember a scene where someone walked out of the upstairs door into the foyer toward the stairs and someone (probably the director) screams out, "Do it again!"

The actor then turns around, closes the door behind him and starts the scene again.  I know I have seen this twice, but I can't remember the details.

I started recording the last time the Adam storyline was on.  I've got most of them, but have probably missed 8-10 over the course of that time.  I've got that timer program on my VCR down.  I could practically do it in my sleep.

I've got tapes stored in boxes all over the house.  I really need to find a central location for them all!  :P

I have to agree... I was thinking that the other day.  It's too bad that they didn't show more of it when they weren't in 1795.

It would have been nice to see if Willy had actually fixed up some of the other rooms besides the drawing room and Josette's.
