MPI plans to release new DVD Collections every other month through the rest of the year.

DVD Collection 7 will be released in August
DVD Collection 8 will be released in October
DVD Collection 9 will be released in November

Future releases will follow the same every other month schedule.

The tentative release schedule for next year has new DVD volumes being released bi-monthly beginning with Collection #4 in February.

The next web chat is tentatively scheduled for early December.  Details will be made available as soon as they are finalized.  Most likely this web chat will run off the redesigned MPI Home Video web site which will be debuting within the next 2-3 weeks.

As most of you are aware, there were some technical problems that occurred during the chat with Dan Curtis.  We will be providing a complete record of the questions that were able to answered & plan to post these answers in addition to the corresponding question on the web site in the next day or so.

I've also noticed some concerns about individuals not getting their questions answered during certain time periods in the chat.  Many questions are received during the chat time period, so we are unable to answer all questions.  To account for this dilemma, questions which seem to be popular (ie- several individuals asking them) are answered.  We attempt to answer both questions from the live chat along with pre-submitted questions.

If you are finding that your questions are not being answered during chats, it's recommended to pre-submit your question along with ask it during the live chat.  This will increase your chances.

To answer your questions about the slates not being included on the DVDs, the simple fact is that numerous slates are missing & we decided to forego the concept.  

The idea was to put the original slates on the Collector's Series videos (VHS), which are the original episodes 1-209 before Barnabas and the first 60 episodes with Barnabas that were edited on the original MPI videos.  The rest of the series came from a different source (submasters made by the TV syndication company),where the original production slates were deleted from those tapes to avoid confusing local stations who reran the show since the episodes were renumbered for syndication.

All of the interesting slates that pull out to wide shots were used on various compilation videos such as "Dark Shadows Behind the Scenes" and "Dark Shadows Bloopers." But there are very few of that nature.
