I had to work today, (AARRGGHH). Working on Saturday is always L-O-N-G because I work 5 - 5+ Moday thru Friday.

I did get to cut the lawn for the first time this season, (year 34 with the ol' Gravely), Man, I really do lead a simple life.

With spring does come all the wonderful flowers and vegtables we plant so life outside will get exciting shortly.

Anyway tomorrow after church and Sunday School, (I teach), Linda, Olivia and myself will go to Liberty Dam, (the park) and have a picnic.

This all has nothing to do with Dark Shadows, but what the hey? (Oh yeah Saturday is when we watch our 1841 PT episodes, time to go upstairs. See I manged to squeeze some DS in there.)

[shadow=red,left,300]TEXT[/shadow]Dark Shadows, the show that got away with almost everything. (ie Louis Edmonds in his boxer shorts with a brandy glass in hand, does anyone remember Louie telling that story?!?!).

Its a hard decision but I liked Tom slightly more than Chris. As others have said the scenes with Julia are great,

                              SPOILER...

(loved when Julia meets him at his coffin and he crosses his eyes right before the big bite). Also the fighting scene with Barnabas was good.

Tom was also a very menacing looking vampire which was in direct contrast to his character prior to being a vampire, he seem to be typical Collinsport town folk, generally a hard worker and a good guy. Not many handyman construction workers work past dark and still have a pleasant friendly attitude, (ie the scene in the basement with Nicholas when the coffin is discovered). Carolyn also  describes Tom as being, "very nice".

My favorite scene with Tom is when Barnabas destroys Tom with the crossed candlesticks. If you watch closely right after Barnabas crosses the candlesticks, Tom appears to slip him the middle digit. Great sentiment from the vampire with an attitude.

I actually thought the flubbed line added to the scene. Trask made her so angry she couldnt find the words to use. It was almost like she was going to cuss him out, and suddenly had second thoughts.

Hey Gothick, I can relate to the '68 storyline as that was when I started taping DS off the local station in July of '84, (back in the day). So the '68 storyline has special meaning to me.

I know those episodes inside out so Iam looking forward to future posts when Sci-fi gets there.

Although 1795 is lots of fun too because that was where I first started watching the show.

Gerard,
To echo Gothick's thought that is the way seaport towns are. I know if you go down to Dundalk, (South East Baltimore) thats where the marine terminal is. The place is teaming with all kinds of recreational reptiles!
(Here's to all the hons in Dundak as they say locally).
I guess there is, "something in the water" that draws them.

Just a quick observation.

Steve,
No I wasnt refering to that consiously, (I guess its just the Catholic in me).

Although your right, (Allen blows out the mind cobwebs, WWIISSHH), I believe Alexandria refers to the medal on the end of one of the Collectors Series Tapes.

Nice catch on your part.

"Loathsome and evil I am. Mock me if you wish, but leave my pain alone".

Wasnt that the line Barnabas had after he injected Dr. Woodard, (or close to it)?????

How about a St. Christopher medallion which belong to one of her parents with worn initials on the back????

They could have done a whole string of episodes on that subject.

There is also a ship yard, (Probably a series of buildings), Fishing shacks by the score & The meade plant, (assuming wine isnt the only drink of choice).

A happy turning of the calendar to ya! May I share an Old Gaelic Blessing with you, (it goes something like this):

May you always be blessed
With walls for the wind,
A roof for the rain,
A warm cup of tea by the fire--
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all that your heart
might desire.

I know I can be a bit of a joker, (or clown whichever you see fit), but I get off a good one now and then.

As the others have said, enjoy these times because they are a blast.

Warmest regards,

B

Still looking for a prerecorded reel to reel tape of Dark Shadows Vol I on Phillips. Anyone know if such a thing exsists or is Allen chasing a shadow, (a dark shadow I might add).

Gerard,
Man Iam sorry I missed that. I used to have, "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" on VHS ions ago. Your right he does play a bad guy in that one.

Loved the scene where he gets the dust blown in his face.

I'll have to keep an eye posted in the cable guide for the next run. I would love to get that movie again.
