Thanks!  BTW, are you a ferret person?  I see a little fuzzbutt on your page!  ;)

Yeah.  I think they're just adorable.  And you can blame it on a friend of mine who got me interested.  I used to be in a Bablyon 5 online game and her character had one.  We had some great "missions" together.  Me and the ferret, that is, not my friend.  LOL!  Then one of my very best online friends took it one step further in a Star Trek game and created a new 'species."  And thus "the weasells" were born.  I even have them in a DS story on my website.

I don'y undertand how this can be, therefore I assume it's some sort of wacky temporal paradox of some kind.  It's your duty to go back in time, and prevent this movie from being made.   While you're back there, pick me up some original Beatles 45s with the picture covers, and foil the Kennedy assassination.

Of course if I were going to go to that much trouble, I would probably make a stop in the space time continuum and pick up some stock from  start ups run by guys named Jobs, Wozniak and Gates.....

And while you're gone, I'm guessing you're going to go back and your past self to NOT unload ANY DS memorabilia.  And I'll give you my address, cause you'll want to meet me then.  I wasn't QUITE as charming and adorable, but I was on my way.   [hall2_grin]

P.S.  Say hello to Beeth-Oven and So-Crates for me!!!!  Oh, and see if you can score a Roy Rogers lunchbox for me.  Thanks!  You're the BEST!

Im watching some of those episodes right now.  Roger certainly isn't the model for paternal affection.  When [spoiler]the big Barnabat is attacking David,[/spoiler] the poor kid is screaming his head off, "HELP!  HELP!"   Roger runs in from the doorway under the stairs and runs INTO the drawing room where Elizabeth is.  "WHAT IS IT?" Roger asks.   Elizabeth tells him, "It's DAVID!" and they both hurry upstairs.  What is it?  DUH!  It's your SON and he's SCREAMING, doofus!  lol!

I've never read either of the Lara Parker books because they haven't been published in braille. The first one has been made available in an Ebook form, but I don't have the necessary software yet. Maybe soon I'll be able to, then I can form a proper opinion.  ;D

An Ebook for Angelique's Descent?  I'm intrigued, Sunny.  Where did you hear about this?

J: Um, I don't know, uh...why don't you jump over it!

Getting Barn to "jump the broomstick" huh, Julia?  You sly devil, you!!!!  LOL!!!!

You have a DS website?  Link please!  ;)

Happy to be of service!  http://www.geocities.com/angeliquewins/  ;D  It's mostly fan fiction:  one smaller story, one novel-sized and one attempting to be novel-sized but as yet unfinished, but I have a few Dark Shadows rants and a weasel story, too!  The only thing you can't navigate to is the script for the Mini Pirate Play (that's mini-play, not mini-pirate) that we did for the Gala, but to get there, all you do is add piratetreasure and then html after the last slash.

Who was upset?  WHO WAS UPSET?  :o  I could not believe it.  And the end.  I kept expecting them to tie up Parallel Time in a nice Gordian knot and go BACK to "our" time.  And Parallel Time kept going on.  And on.  And on...  ARGH!!!!  Although I DID adore the Catherine and Bramwell Show, but as I say on my webpage, "What was SHE THINKING?"  and "What was HE thinking???"  But they finally got their respective acts together.

I did think the ending was sort of weird with [spoiler]Melanie getting bit.  Two neat holes on her neck.  But, oh.  Look.  It wasn't a vampire after all.  Oh really?  Then what the HECK was it?  What makes two neat holes like that?  [batang][/spoiler] Anyway, at least they sort of ended Parallel Time.  Bet they couldnt't get away with switching over to Parallel Time in any OTHER show!!  LOL!!!

Current Talk '06 II / Re: Collinwood should be on MapQuest!
« on: October 06, 2006, 06:25:56 PM »
There's a room there, room 211, that is my FAVORITE room!  In fact, in 1997 when I went there for the first time, Karlenfan, StarryAstrid and I joked w/Mr. & Mrs. Carey, the current owners of Seaview/The Carey Mansion, that we intended to move into that room.

Anyway, the room is on the back of the house overlooking the back lawn and ocean/beach beyond.  It's above the solarium you speak of in fact.  The coolest thing about this room is it opens up onto a balcony of sorts that connects w/another room we couldn't get into.  But to help you get your bearings dear cousins, think of the standard opening, establishing shot of CW at the beginning of virtually every episode.  Start at the tower and move to your right.  This room is on the 2nd floor on the very CORNER of the house.  The balcony is to the right of this corner.  In my Bramwell/Catherine novel, this was their room.   ;D  In fact, I named my publication 'company' after this room, hence Room 211 Press!  ;)
 [peepwall]
I agree CW and indeed, Collinsport, should be on MapQuest.  We know from early pre-Barnbas eps that it's close enough to Bangor to be reasonably gotten to and from in a day.  Elizabeth tells David one day about how Issac Collins came to the spot where he founded Colllinsport and that they were near Frenchman Bay.  So we can get an idea of where the fictional town is.   ;)  In fact, I think it's in Hanover County in Maine, or maybe it was Hancock, been a while since I looked at a map of Maine.  ;)

Cool post, BuzzH!  Thanks!!!  And that's so cool about room 211!  I actually had envisioned that the room above the solarium was part of a suite and one particular character (no spoilers here, lol!) is going to move into that suite.  I also read about the Carey Mansion that it has several attics that span each wing and the main house, so I used one of them in my story and built a dormer window that you can look out of and see the grounds, the ocean, cool view.  Of course, the view has got to be great from most every direction, but this was one of those scenes that just wrote itself.  Elizabeth tells a visitor of the best place to watch the sunrise and they go there.  (And see, if you look at the pic of Collinwood that we're used to, you can imagine the dormer window hidden behind one of the chimneys.  [peepwall] Elizabeth even explains where it is for the visitor's benefit.   ;D  I decided I liked the fountain on the wall in the solarium in Hawaii, so I put one in MY Collinwood.

As for location, I know they mention Rockport and Logansport, but I read something one of the writers said once, or maybe it was Dan Curtis.  Don't remember.  Anyway, they said that the model for Collinsport was Bar Harbor.  And if you look at Bar Harbor, it's very cool.  It's on Mount Desert Island which is mostly Acadia National Park.  And there's FRENCHMAN'S BAY right next door!!  Anyway, that's where I put "my" Collinsport.  Then you can look at the map and talk about other places nearby.  I found out that Bar Harbor was a stop on the Underground Railroad, and used that too.

It's so fun the way you can take in all this info, and 'POOF"  out comes a story!  To quote Harry (Potter, not Johnson), "It's like MAGIC!"

So Everybody, click on the link and learn the song!  [toothy9]  And if you have any trouble with the words, go here  http://www.geocities.com/angeliquewins/piratetreasure.html  Ignore the title page that didn't come through.  I'm still working on that.  Don't speak html or xhtml very well yet.  But the words are there!  And there's probably lots of MacFolks who already know the tune--It's the Flying Toaster music!

Current Talk '06 II / Collinwood should be on MapQuest!
« on: October 06, 2006, 06:52:47 AM »
I know there's no official "Collinwood" layout, but because I'm working on my second DS  [read3]  novel ([laughing_devil]  ok, Pansity, stop laughing.  My DS "NeverEnding Story."  Is that better?) I'm watching all the early episodes that I missed originally and looking for tidbits of information that might be used here or there:  little bits and pieces of family info...like the Amontillado that Jeremiah liked and the fact that the family owned a vineyard in Spain up until WWII, the old curmudgeon & confirmed bachelor Caleb Sayers Collins who owned the house that Vicki loved and didn't want anybody but a Collins to own it, and how Elizabeth offered the West Wing for Vicki and Burke to live in because it was a "completely independent unit."

I'm also interested in various "destinations" inside the house and one that I've tried to pin down is the LIBRARY.  I've decided that it's really the Collinwood Bookmobile. [iroc]  I saw one episode where Elizabeth said she was going to get something from the library and she went out of the foyer to the doorway under the stairs.  Another time I saw Julia announce that she had left something in the library and was going to go get it and she headed up the stairs.  Today I just saw Dr. Woodward come into Collinwood [spoiler]all atwitter because he had figured out that Barn was a vampire.[/spoiler] (Yeah, ok, no big surprise--just practicing my "spoilerposting."  He announced to Vicki that he wanted to go to the library and use some of the family books.  Vicki told him where he could finde some special ones "in the library" that Julia had been working on.  They both mentioned several times about books in "the library" and then he headed off towards the study (which is apparently past the drawing room, and past the camera...)  Will somebody PARK the $&!#%  LIBRARY already????   LOL!!!!

Then again in that scene, I wonder if "library" was mistakenly said for "study"  because that's where he was and that's what Vicki said when she told Julia he was in there.  Ok, so the "LIBRARY" must span two floors then.  And Elizabeth was going to the downstairs part.  And Julia was headed to the upstairs part.  Maybe THAT's the ticket.  ("No ticket!"  Indiana Jones)  And then we'd have a dumbwaiter from one level to the other.  Maybe that's how Gabriel went from one floor to the next.  Of course [spoiler]WE KNOW he can walk, but nobody else did at Collinwood for YEARS and YEARS (except us, but we're special)[/spoiler]

We know there's the Tower Room and we saw a 'breakfast nook' in one of the early episodes.  Do we know how we got there?  LOL!

For my own sanity (or lack thereof [duckie]) I've worked on the architecture for "my" Collinwood, so I know where things are in my story.  In browsing through Bobubas's wonderful DS site, I saw a picture inside the 'real' Collinwood that showed the righthand corner room with the huge arched windows.  After finding out that this was originally the "Solarium," I looked for pictures of solariums that might have fit into the Collins family history and found a great one in Hawaii,  http://www.huinoeau.com/history.php  The room is in the style of the 1920s, and so in my story, I could not resist "restoring" the room to what Elizabeth remembererd from her childhood.

Any thoughts on what other rooms might have been around?  Or hiding out somewhere?  [a2a3]  (Billiards?  Conservatory?  LIBRARY????  lol!) And how to get there?  LOL!   And any other cool bits of info?

Thanks!

P.S.  And thanks for the Mayonnaise Curses, Mrs. Johnson!!!!!!  [wavey]

Wish I had missed mayonnaise day.  serves me right for reading the webmail on lunch.  Lo and behold I get an email from Angelique wins encouranging me to make the effort to come over cause she caught a mess of curses. That was today but she thought the jar was still out and about. I log on long enough to play chase the jar -- and get a few THOUSAND cures.

Then again, that was so perfectl;y in line with the rest of the day that I should have known better......

Or maybe Mrs. J was telling me something about day old mayo.... [signblah05]

Oops...Sorry Pans...but, um...no, I haven't seen AngeliqueWins anywhere...[a2a3]

Psst...Scotty?  Are you there, Scotty?  Now would be a wery good time to beam me up...[8334]

I was completely puzzled by today's appearance of the floating jar of mayo
So I am not seeing things after all....................

I wondered too!   And then she gave a jar to ME (and wiped out the HUGE post I was working on...)  and I got a big boost in my karma curses!  Thanks, Mrs. J!!!!!  (I had saved the post in Word... ;D)

I've had a few requests for an encore!  ;D   So for those of you who didn't get to go to the Fest, or who were there, but missed the Gala (what were you THINKING???  LOL!) OR for those of you who SAW the Gala in all its glory and want to relive a moment or two--from WAAAAAY back in the auditorium...  Here's a little audio (courtesy of Jeannie's "Ant Cam") of The Eagle Hill Irregulars doing that show stopper, "A Pirate's Maine Treasure," starring Adamsgirl as the lovely Naomi Tognazzini and AngeliqueWins as the Storyteller and (due to lack of any male committment) Everybody Else.

And at the end, roomie Lali joins us on the Lido deck level for our rousing song, "Dark Shadows Anthem."  [gramophone]

We join our brave thespians with their previously scheduled program already in progress... [cheer]

Current Talk '06 I / Re: Getting the year wrong
« on: October 04, 2006, 03:03:54 AM »
Speaking of getting the year wrong, I've seen references to the 1840 episodes as 1840 and 1840/1.  I seem to remember that the parallel time version went up to 1841, but "our" space/time continuum?  The (never-ending) trial?  Did they say the date for that?
