While at Wal Mart today I noticed they had a new cover up for the Dark Shadows Resurrected dvd, this one had Barnabas and Josette on the cover. Does anybody know if this one acutally has the extended footage on it? It drives me crazy that my dvd set is edited! I doubt it's anything but a new cover intended to catch the eye of anyone buying Twilight dvds with the same edited episodes, but I live in hope for the series finally getting an uncut release.

After the two revisits to 1795 I am confused by Natalie's fate. I'm pretty sure Ben killed her after Josette's death, as at that point she was on her way back to Martinique so no one at Collinsport would miss her, although you'd think at some point Andre would come looking for her.
But then the Leviathon's meddling causes a new death scenerio for Josette, I wonder if Natalie was able to avoid death in that new timeline, assuming that the new timeline sticks. I'm not really a big fan of the last 1795 do over, it feels like it weakens the power of the original story. I did enjoy the second 1795 quick revisit, as it onl made slight changes to the original, unlike t the major changes the Leviathon story did, and I didn't like the changes that did happen. Josette commiting suicide over thinking she had been jilted makes her less sympathetic to me anyway. Her original death was iffy whether she killed herself or fell accidently, either way she died struggling against becoming a vampire, giving her a noble death that made the character deeper and more interesting, to me anyway.
I wonder how the new movie will do any look alikes, if the movie or any sequels do flashbacks. I figure that Vicky will also be Josette instead of Maggie, as in the 1991 series.

ITA having a Collins patriarch not played by LE seemed wrong. I'm assuming he didn't play Justin because of scheduling conflicts. Also seems weird that there was no David child role, but I think I've heard that the actor had left the show after 1840.

I always thought that Louise Fletcher would make a great Mrs Johnson/Abigail. Check her out in Flowers in the Attic and picture her as Abigail, she's practicaly already playing Abigail there!
Nancy Barrett would also make a great Mrs Johnson/Abigail, I think she would be great with all that simmering passion subverted into insane religious mania. I'd be ok with her as Liz, I want one of the DS women to play her, I just think KLS would be better in that role.
I'd be cool with Joaquin playing Barnabas, or maybe Quentin. He'd be a better Barnabas I think, better suited for brooding than a bad boy.
Tim Curry would be great as Roger, but I think he'd make a fabulous Trask!
I always though Willian Shatner would make a great Sam Evans, I could easily picture him as a boozy failed artist with a doting daughter. James Franco could certainly play Joe, he has a quality that would make him believable as a salt of the earth hardworking fisherman.

Jolie could be an interesting Angelique. I think Nicole Kidman would make a great Angelique.
Is HBC old enough to play Liz? I'd rather see KLS play Liz/Naomi. How about HBC as Mrs. Johnson/Abigail? That's the kind of quirky character role I think she could really steal the show with. I can just picture her Mrs Johnson all repressed and snaky, and her Abigail foaming bat****crazy.
Christopher Lee would make a great Trask. How about David Selby as Joshua?
I read that Anne Hathaway wanted toplay Vicky, and she'd be good in the role. They'd probbaly follow the remake and have Vicky be Josette, unless they write out Vicky in favor of Maggie. I dount there'sd be room in the movie for both Vicky and Maggie to do much. They could always bring in Maggie for a sequel, especially if AH becomes unavailable.
Susan Sarandon would make a great Julia.

Alec Newman is great, and has played several roles in the wonderful BF audios, it's Andrew Collins who plays Barnabas in the audios, and he's really great!

I have these. Dale Clark's novels are really really good. He does an excellent job of working with all the characters and developing them in ways you wouldn't necessrily expect, but it works. The plots are epic in scope, with a pace that will leave you breathles for more.

Current Talk '10 I / Re: Quentin VS Barnabas in the Love DEPT

Joe Haskell is the man for me too.
Barnabas doesn't turn me on. Interesting character, but I never wanted to rip his clothes off.
Quentin is also undeniably a handsome devil, but you know that as soon as you gave him what he wanted he'd be on to greener pastures.
Joe is the handsomest man in Collinsport imo, and he's the loyal type. Just have to keep an eye on them bad things don't happen to him. He is the damsel in distress type, prone to mental instability and his sex appeal can lead to evil types using him for his body.

The next wave of figures have been announced, and prototypes will be revealed at SDCC (San Deigo Comic Con).  They are:

Quentin Collins
Josette DuPres
Dr. Julia Hoffman
Willie Loomis
Adam

Wow the second wave will be a lot bigger! I'm going to need to make some room! I wonder if they'll do varients, such as 1840 Julia,  modern Qunein, 1897 Quentin, 1975 Victoria, etc.
And will they make playsets? Collinwood and the Old House are a must, of course.

145
I've preordered all three figures and am so excited, they look great!
Am already speculating on the second wave of figures. Quentin is a given, and probably either Julia or Josette.
I'd LOVE a Magda doll!

I have wondered about PT Vicky, if she even existed. I always had the theory that she was adopted by Sam Evans and was the sister Jennifer that is mentioned briefly.

Julia and Willie moving Barnabas's coffin would have been a sight. That would be a heavy load, and I wonder if Julia helped at all or just glared at Willie for taking so long.
Speculation over B and J's overnight visits would have been priceless.
Julia explaining why she needed yet another day off from work would have been a scream.

Current Talk '10 I / Re: Ned Stuart -- Touchy Feely Freak
« on: May 17, 2010, 09:52:06 PM »
Oh I defintely thought the same thing, that Ned's grabby obsessive treatment of his sister was overtly incestous.
I try to give Ned something of a pass, he had plenty of reason to have it in for Chis, and his only scenes really are focused on Ned's protectiveness of Sabrina over the damage done to her by Chis, but Ned does come off as abrasive and shrill at best.
He was a lot more likable in Return to Collinwood, but by then he'd pretty much had a personality transplant from Jeff.
Of course, we don't really know that much about what Ned would be like in a different context that the one we saw him in. I really like Peter/Jeff, but Ned wasn't likable.

Dark Shadows action figures with a Collinwood - and the Old House- playsets would be so awesome! Knowing I'd buy them all and play with them.
I've also really wanted a DS collectable card game. I'll be interested in new movie merchandise but I'll be most excited by any 60s DS swag that comes out.

Wow that story sounds great. You should consider having those stories collected and printed up, there hasn't been any new DS fanzines that I'm aware of for ages.
Also, Big Finish does accept unsolicited stories, if any of your stories could be adapted for audio you should consider giving that a try.
