I'm sure it gets quite boring for Vicki in that room with nothing to occupy her time and no one to talk to. I wonder if barnabas brought her anything to read.

The clock, I assume it was in the Collinwood drawing room, struck eleven. I wonder if DC planned it that way to provide more suspense to the situation of Ben sneaking in to Abigail's room.

Angelique claimed she would protect Ben while he went on her little errand, but all she protected was herself by preventing him from identifying her to Abigail.

I feel so sorry for Ben, he doesn't have any good options no matter where he turns. If he doesn't do Angelique's  bidding she'll kill him. If he does and gets caught, he gets sent back to prison.

The champagne turning in to blood was so very disgusting!  [hall_shocked]

I got the distinct impression that Barnabas didn't really want to be left alone with Angelique, and after the tantrum she threw, he has to be wondering what sort of a marriage he's gotten himself into.

Don't ghosts get to know the true story of things after they die?    Jenny became sane, so it must give you a broader perspective.

That's my feeling as well, Magnus. Once someone is a ghost, they seem to know everything. Which is why Jeremiah's haunting of Barnabas is so confusing. He should have known the true story of what took place and who caused everything to happen the way it did. But I guess that was because he was under Angelique's influence.

I wonder if it was Jeremiah's ghost who placed Sarah's doll and the pins in Angelique's suit case in an attempt to tell Barnabas she was the witch.

Angelique is getting a taste of her own medicine, and by her behavior it's obvious she doesn't like it one bit.

I've got to echo lydia's sentiments, what an excellent, superb episode!

Poor Naomi, trying to bridge the gulf between Barnabas and joshua, and she's stuck in the middle. It was very touching that she gave Barnabas the Old house.

What wonderful acting by all!

I loved it when Abigail was accusing Angelique of witchcraft, and when she said that even if she wasn't a witch, she was still a fortune hunter trying to better her place in society by marrying in to the Collins family. She is definitely smarter than people give her credit for. In any case I loved that scene. Go, Abigail!  [hall_cool]

I liked it when Nathan came to Barnabas and asked if there was anything he could do to help him, he was quite concerned that barnabas might be getting in to an unwanted marriage.

I enjoyed Grayson Hall's voice-over today, it was said in a very gentle tone.

When Naomi and Natalie were quizzing each other on possible candidates for whom the witch could be, and Naomi asks about Angelique, I wished right there that Natalie would have somehow realized Angelique's hand in all of this. Of course that wasn't about to happen, but it was a nice thought.

I don't like how Angelique turned Jeremiah's spirit in to a possessive ghost, so unlike his true self when he was alive. He didn't care for Josette romantically when he was living, so it makes no sense why he would in death.

It sounds like Louis Edmonds was suffering from a cold in this episode.

What did Angelique hope to do by sending Josette to Jeremiah's grave? Perhaps she was attempting to drive her mad.

I wonder if the voice Josette heard calling her to Jeremiah's grave is the same one as we, the viewers hear? It's obvious it's Angelique calling to her, but Josette doesn't recognize the voice, making me wonder if Angelique disguised her voice.

Spoiler ahead:

Poor Jeremiah, he didn't deserve to die, especially for something that wasn't even his fault. This was such a sad episode. Even though he wasn't on DS very long, I always liked Jeremiah very much. I will miss him.  :( :'(

Notice how Naomi calls for Barnabas and not Joshua when Sarah falls ill. She knows whom she can depend on to help her and Sarah I suppose.

Barnabas's devotion to Sarah is touchingly evident, I love watching them interact.

How can Angelique be so vicious? To harm a child simply to further her own plans, how cold she is.  >:(

Barnabas did some terrible things when he first awakened in 1967, but I believe that was due to his curse and being imprisoned in the coffin for so many years. He was overcome with a kind of madness. But Angelique, what is her excuse? I have no sympathy for her in this episode.

Poor Nathan, wanting to protect Vicki, and at the same time, not wanting to loose his career.

For all her protestations, I think Angelique must have bewitched Barnabas with rose-water while she was rubbing his forehead.

There's no doubt about that. I can see her bewitching him.

Everyone has commented on Angelique's performance, but I find Trask's performance even more fun to watch. The way he interrogates Angelique is excellent!  8)

you know, Reverend Trask does have a point, Vicki is a complete stranger, she appeared out of nowhere without any references, and yet Barnabas and Nathan are so eager to defend her?

Natalie with her taro cards should have been under as much suspicion but Trask seemed to simply ignore that fact.

I have trouble believing that the Tree Test was ever actually used determine whether a person was a witch.

I found the idea of using the tree for the "Witch Test" to be quite original, even if it isn't the way they used to perform the test back then.

Quote
I have never understood why Vicky didn't tell Barnabas and Nathan just to leave her tied to the tree so that Trask would be clearly foiled and discredited in the morning.

Trask had already proved himself to be violent, Vicki was most likely terrified of what he might do to her when he returned and found the tree still living. Besides, when a person is under that much strain and trauma, they're not thinking very rationally.

JL plays reverend Trask so excellently! He goes from playing mild mannered Tony to self-righteous Trask, with such a difference, it's almost hard to imagine both characters are played by the same person.

Vicki was quite arrogant and stubborn, refusing Nathan's offer of help, refusing to believe that she was in any danger. Too bad, she might have been able to be protected, at least for a time.

Abigail loves to have power over people and situations, she's practically gloating when she informs barnabas that Joshua has given her free rein in the matter of Vicki's guilt or innocence.

I do like reverend Trask, even though he's quite extreme, I believe his heart is in the right place. He truly wants to find the witch, and if it would have been proved that Angelique was the witch, he would have behave towards her just as he did with vicki.
