Glad the site's back up. Two of my favorite boards were down yesterday. I know what happened to the other one. It was being worked on. Did you ever find out what happened to this one? ~DJ

Confirm or deny: One of those novels describes Willie Loomis as "ugly" and Jeff Clark as "handsome"? There's gotta be a throw-up smiley here somewhere...  lol. ~DJ

The Josette I saw in the '91 version was far too dainty to have it out over Barnabas fling w/ Angelique. More than likely all she would have done was shoved the idea off to the side, if she ever caught wind of it, and lived a lie all her life. I don't know about KLS's rendition. She looked a bit less appeasing. I'm sure she would have had words with ole Barn.

You know, on that note, there were too many stories left unresolved in that show! I guess that's what makes the better part of them fun. This way we can sit here and conjecture what might have happened next.

I had no idea JF didn't want to play Barnabas, anymore. That's what it would have been like if Heather Locklear had refused to play Amanda on Melrose Place while it was in its prime. That's one surefire way to send a show careening down the toilet.  ~DJ

Current Talk '05 I / Named after DS Characters...
« on: January 18, 2005, 08:05:01 PM »
It's a beautiful name, but I don't think I'd ever be fixing to name any of my future kids that. Quentin, however, is a different story. It's a gorgeous name for a boy. One I hope I can use one day. :)

We named our baby Deirdre Victoria, and ever since then, there've been some friends of ours who thought we labeled her with a middle name from one of the ds characters. lol. Victoria is a beautiful name, but we didn't name her after her. I, however, was almost named Victoria b/c my mom was so in love with Dark Shadows. That and she always bore a slight resemblance to her. ;) ~DJ

I wouldn't doubt it. The gal was only 13 at the time and this was in the early 90's. :) ~DJ

You're right, ProfStokes, JK is fanatabulous in every scene he's in. So dstoda has his pick of a helluva lot of good scenes.

And, Janet, I spliced it. Maggie never thanked Willie properly during the run of the show, so there you have it. ;) ~DJ

Magda. Definitely Magda. I couldn't even recognize the gal at first.

Finals, Heather? What are you studying? Don't mind me. I ask everyone that b/c I'm fixing to go to college, too, one of these damn days. :) ~DJ

For John Karlen... He's as his best when he's shouting. The more fiery, the better.

For KLS... idk. Obsession aside, she was at her tamest when she was in scenes with JK. Try the scene where she's sobbing over her father.

And Nancy Barret was incredible as Charity Trask. Use anything around that time for her, if you'd like. I've got clips if you don't, so I can provide anything you want.

Email me if you'd like any help. You know videos and graphics are my forte. ;) ~DJ (maybellique@gmail.com)

I'm tip-toeing over the possible spoilage in this thread, but I just wanted to say I just bought a few of the Ross novels on ebay last week! I was inspired to get 'em for my Mom b/c she couldn't stop talking about them everytime the DS subject came up in our conversations. She said she lost hers when her second marriage broke up. It was a situation where she had to get away from the guy post haste and she wound up losing ALL of her Marilyn Ross DS books. :( She hasn't found any ever since. So, I mosied on to ebay and found a marvelous deal that included 6 MR DS books, 1 DS informational book w/ pix, and Angelique's Descent. Her bday isn't till November, but hopefully I'll have built up a nice solid collection for her by then. ;) Hope she enjoys 'em! ~DJ

I haven't seen any of those cliffhangers, but I voted for Mags walks into the bluewhale unexpected. That's really the only one I've heard about. But can someone tell me more about just HOW Barnabas was tricked into shooting Julia by Aristede??? ~DJ
