Or maybe Quentin assumed it was okay for him to rise from the dead but not for Laura to do the same thing.

This is one of the best DS stories I have read.  I'm sorry to see it come to a close but it's good to know I can go back and reread it.
It's nice to see Quentin with enough gumption to be the hero of this crisis.
Current Talk '02 II / Re: Zombie time - spoilers
« on: November 13, 2002, 02:15:36 PM »
Having a zombie wandering around always seemed so much like the Outer Limits I wondered why that story was part of 1897.  Was it really important to the storyline?  I was thinking that Quentin could have been wounded badly and the outcome would still be the same (the curse).  It seemed too bizarre to have this strange cousin with the odd hours explaining voodooism and zombies to the very straight laced Judith.
And why was no one else frightened by Quentin's resurrection?  I guess that is why Trask had to be there, to lend credibility to it.

My favorite is the second half of 1897

I enjoyed reading this essay.  Mr. Frid is a wonderful storyteller.  I would enjoy hear this story, as all the others, on an audio tape or CD.

I am also grateful that he uses a large size font.  When reading an essay or a page with a lot of text I always have to change the font so I can see comfortably.  I did not have to do that on Mr. Frid's website.

About Jenny & Edward,
There is a good reason for Jenny to want to burn Edward which is revealed later and it still has to do with the "babies."

I have always enjoyed the episodes in which Jenny sings.

On Marie Wallace's website, she says that she appeared in Gypsy, which is a musical.  Doesn't say if she had a singing role or not.

She has the voice for it though.

About the Jane Eyre storyline -- I cannot see Edward and Rachel as a couple although they deserve each other.

There was an episode where we saw what Jenny looked like before ... it comes later in the storyline and has to do with the baby's casket Barnabas and Chris dug up in the woods.

ROFL
I was rolling because of the statement that Magda didn't give Rachel her SSN because it didn't exist yet.

Rachel grated on my nerves too.  For someone ...

who had a rough childhood and grew up where she did, you'd think she would have more common sense.

She is the epitome of the dumb horror movie heroine.  When everyone is calling "Don't go in there!" you know that is exactly what she is going to do.

I don't post much, but I enjoy reading your posts, Annie.  Your exuberant love for Quentin makes me smile.
Have a great day!  :)

VAM,

I hope you will reconsider.  Many times, even though there is no harmful intent, offense is taken ... you apologized and that should be the end of it.  I don't even know what you did.  I haven't seen it.
