What a fabulous article! Thanks so much!

I am so sorry to hear this! I recognize his face from the photo. I did see him at some fests I attended. I don't believe, though, we ever spoke. I will keep his loved ones in my prayers.

In defense of Robert Rodan's portrayal of Adam, I think that given what he had to work with (a rather ridiculous storyline), he did very well. He managed to convey such a sweetness and innocence, particularly when he fell in love with Carolyn. He was also able to show us how he truly didn't understand why he couldn't be her "boyfriend." Then, in his anger, it was easy for Nicholas to manipulate him. I also liked that he was pretty much a genius and able to learn so quickly. A lesser actor wouldn't have been able to do all that Rodan did with this stuff, IMHO.

Then again, look at my handle, right? LOL! >:D

As soon as I returned home from this year's event, I got online to research airfares to Burbank. Of course, it's way too early, but I, too, was thrilled it was in the program! So many of us were afraid this was the last hurrah. However, judging by the overwhelming response to this event, of course due to Frid's appearance, I think it was a no-brainer to go ahead with another one next year! Oh, happy day!

It was a phenomenal experience, and I'm so grateful to you, Nancy, for all your hard work in making this happen. I was delighted that the fans were well-behaved for the most part and respected Mr. Frid. It's something I won't forget.

As far as Frid goes, I just found him to be a remarkable, amazing man. What a talent and how lucky we were to be able to meet him! I was never fortunate enough to attend a fest he went to, so this was a special treat for me. I know some have met him at other fests, but being one who didn't, let's just say, WOW!!!

All in all, I have to say, it was fabulous, despite it being a day shorter than an actual festival. And, the good news is, they've already announced next year's fest -- July 18 - 20 -- a full three days! It'll be in Burbank this time, which should delight the West Coast folks who've had to fly out two years in a row to the EAst Coast.

Jonathan Frid did look great and was quite spry, as someone else said. It was a pure delight to see him. I, too, though, thought it rude of people to "groan" when he couldn't sign all those photos at the actual banquet. Heck -- I don't think I could have done it, and I'm much younger than Frid. He was a sport, and I did see him in the morning. Fortunately, there wasn't much of a line, but someone who was there after I left told me that he was asked to stay and sign other things. I hope he didn't do it. He had to have been exhausted. Still, the tremendous reception he got was heartwarming.

As for the banquet, it was unbelievable how many people were packed into the room. It truly was frightening. Thank God nothing happened!

I just want to publicly state here how grateful I am to Nancy Kersey for all she did to make this happen and for her unbelievable hard work during the event. She deserves a plaque or something -- hey! A medal -- and even that wouldn't begin to cover it. She was a trouper, through and through! Thank you, Nancy, from the bottom of this fan's heart! I only wish I could have grabbed you for a second to buy you a drink!

The combination of the work of these three was what created the very feel of Dark Shadows -- its moodiness, darkness and Gothic atmosphere, captivating the audience.  How's that?

That's confusing, Mary. Hopefully, they'll clear it up when we register.

How cool is that? Hey, I think it's worth more than $20 (just my two cents)!

All I know is, there are no plans to do so. The pilot for the proposed series was a "rough draft" at best. While it's slick vis-a-vis special effects, you can see how much polish it needs. It's "not ready for prime time," and thus, it most likely will never be available for sale to the general public.

This is sad to hear -- I also have a friend looking to score a ticket because she was too late. I'm hoping for happy endings for them. It's sure going to be tough. My thought is, if someone cancels, it'll be something last minute, such as just not showing up for whatever reason. In that case, I think those folks without a ticket are still out of luck.

The striking thing is, he thinks enough of Dark Shadows to mention it to an interviewer. It obviously is a passion for him. I think it's totally cool!

Wow! It's sold out! That's great news. Of course, for those people who were waiting till the last minute, it's not so great. I'm so looking forward to this!
