Current Talk '03 I / Re:Remembering the DS Plotlines?
« on: May 26, 2003, 08:06:46 AM »
The thing that stuck out for me the most was the just past storyline with Quentin as a werewolf.  I just remember being so terrified to sleep at night because I kept thinking that thing was gonna break through my bedroom window at night!  My mom had to sleep with me on a more than a few occasions!  lol!!  I must of been around 8 at the time so it scared me pretty much.  After that she said no more ds!  So I told her that I would sleep alone again if she let me watch the show so she said she'd give it one more try.  She didnt know of course that as soon as she went to bed the light in my room went on!!   The things you gotta go through just to watch your favorite show!

LOL!  I keep waiting for him to show up with those high platform shoes they use to wear during the disco craze!

Thats funny Cassandra,  I can still see my future husband back then taking me out with those crazy 3 inch platform shoes and heading for the discoteque!!   He gets so mad everytime I bring those platform shoes up!!

Your post made me think about those people throughout the run of the show who show up on screen that weren't supposed to.

I remember those Murph.  The funny thing is that I can only remember people from the camera crew or stage hands accidently getting into these scenes but never an actual actress/actor from the show.  Its something how one of the actors never accidently walked into a scene that was not their own.

Your site is always great as usual!  Loved the pic of David on the Waltons.  No matter what that man does, or what kind of hairstyle he has, he always look great!

Thank you!

The thing is though, he's only on DS for a relatively short period of time. RD just kept coming back again and again.

Yeah and each time he only got worse and worse! You would think with all that time and experience his acting would have improved, but apparently not so.   I know he had been on other shows, such as Alias,Smith and Jones for awhile, but I never watched this so i can't comment on if his acting did improve later on with time.

I for one was very, very happy to see Nicholas come back into Collinsport again.  He'll keep Jebez in line again.   [90d4]

I always did like Nicholas Blair.  He was so mean.  tee hee

Now it's heating up.

Me too Terry 308!!!    Its good to see the N.B. back again.  I loved him as Nickolas, although wasnt too font of him as Evan Hanley.  I thought he played our N.B. very well and really did the evil thing so well when it came to Cassandra and Eve.

Current Talk '03 I / Re:Angelique's Portrait
« on: May 22, 2003, 11:21:54 PM »
Well...
When Nicholas took away Cassandra's powers and she began to age rapidly, Vicki, Julia and Roger discovered that Angelique's portrait suddenly appeared as it does in the above photo.

Yes, that's true and that I do remember.  I thought you were referring to when Vicky first bought the portrait into the house at Collinwood.  I think this is what Josette is referring to in the post and why didn't Carolyn and her mom recognize the photo in the Rumson house as the same one that sat in the drawing room at Collinwood.
After all,  Julia noticed it right away. ;)

The portrait was in perfect condition then and it also had been sitting in the Collinwood drawing room for quite some time before the aging took place.  So Carolyn and the others had ample time to view it before Sam Evans actually aged the picture.

Current Talk '03 I / Re:Leviathan....the beginning of the end?
« on: May 22, 2003, 10:26:04 AM »
I thought the shift from 1795 to the Dr. Lang/Adam story was very jarring (it seemed like a completely different show) but the show seemed to find its way again with the intro of the Quentin and Beth ghost story which of course lead to the entire 1897 saga.  Once that ended it was again very jarring - a whole new show where everyone seems to be hanging around the antique shop.  I think the times DS gets off track is when it strays too far from the Collins family and brings in too many outsiders.

You said it for me Julian!  In the beginning of this leviathan storyline I couldn't get into it because of the big change from 1897 to this.  Now however Im finally starting to follow it,  well,  at least Im trying to!

Well, remember, so far as they know, the portrait Vicki bought was ruined beyond repair.

When did this happen?  When Vicky first bought the portrait back to Collinwood after she had purchased it in an antique shop I didn't think it looked "ruined" or beyond repair?  Did I miss something here?  I thought the painting looked pretty good.

I find it endlessly amusing that she left for the airport at nite to meet hubby in a storm, then returned in the morning sporting a new and complicated hairdo and wearing a pink dress instead of black.  No attempt at continuity whatsover.

You're very observant Midnite!  I hadnt even noticed the dress change and you would think with a color like pink I would!  Another thing I dont get is how she drove around in that terrible storm all night and still managed to come home looking like she just stepped out of a Salon!!    Couldn't she have at least stopped to call her husband from a payphone?  We know the phones were working because Sky received one and made one during the storm.   The whole thing just looked crazy!! [spin]

I try not to let the karma thing bother me too much.  I agree with alot of what Midnite and Mb said and also if you have confidence in yourself and what you write then the negative points shouldn't mean anything anyway.   I tend to see the glass as "half full" so I look at the plus numbers more than the minus ones.   I enjoy reading everyones posts here so I look at the karma thing as just fun and nothing more. :)
