Its possible that Barnabas' 1969 body being sent to 1897 forced his 1897 body back to the coffin and rechained in the secret room again as that's where he first occupied it from.   Petofi cursed his present time self so he still wouldn't be able to dematerialize.

Since Adam doesn't exist here, B is a vampire once again.

Reading these episodes makes me wonder if it was Trask who shot and killed Quentin in the original timeline, possibly causing Beth to kill herself.

Trask then tells Edward about the details, causing Edward to wall the dead Quentin in his room.

Just speculating...

Nice to hear Judith is doing well as per Trask and his many visits to his dear wife.
Of course, we learn later he is making this all up as he hasn't seen Judith since she left Collinwood.

In the original 1897, unaltered by  Barnabas, does Quentin actually marry Angelique? Is that how he starts to become Quentin the evil ghost? I think the skeleton can only have been Quentin's. Why would Quentin the ghost want them to bury Trask's skeleton?

Maybe Quentin's ghost had enough of being in the room with his hated brother in law. lol
Without Petofi there in original 1897, Q must have still be a werewolf when he died.  I still say Judith and Edward eventually learned the truth about him without Barnabas there to help keep it secret.  They killed him with a silver bullet causing him to die in the chair and then sealed him in the room.  This is after he probably killed Beth as a werewolf.
These episodes had me totally confused when I first saw them.  We saw Quentins skeleton in the walled up room and it was just mentioned & now they show him dying in the Tower Room.  I had know idea where any of this was going, it was frustrating!

If they had Christina Crawford as Carolyn, imagine JC playing daughter to Joan Bennett!
When did these episodes with JC air?

Does anyone know if she was asked to play Angelique in 1795 before they chose Lara Parker?
Since they hired Thayer David for Ben, I was thinking they may have thought back to the Laura storyline to get DM to also return to the show.

I just got an email from Amazon stating they are cancelling my order due to lack of availability.

Lawyers tended to disappear with no explanation, better then most male doctors fared anyway, like Richard Garner, Frank Garner, & Tony Peterson.  Also, Chris Collins in PT 1970.

No one says anything about Charles Tate looking like the twin of Dirk Wilkins.

Tad was written out of 1840 by having Quentin send him to Boston (which went against the implication he was killed by Gerard along with Carrie & Daphne at a later point in the story).  He appeared only in 5 episodes of 1840.

Had the show returned and stayed in the present, they would have had to recast.

I'm just thinking that the history can't be changed that much.  If any of them did live on originally, possibly none of them married or contributed in any way that effects the future.  Post 1897, Quentin didn't connect with his family originally or in the changed timeline (though he was dead in the original).  He most likely had meaningless relationships that went nowhere or kept to himself.

Dirk was already insane before Barnabas bit him, so I think he did murder those people originally.

The infamous murder of Carl Collins.

I know fans have gone over & over about this but I always thought if John Karlen wanted to leave the show, they just shouldn't have brought Carl back at all and just have him gone away.

I have also mentioned before that I believe in the original timeline, an insane but human Dirk killed Rachael, Pansy, & Carl and was then shot to death by Edward.  Perhaps this is just the timeline making up for what was to happen anyway.

CB dies three times (1795, 1897, 1995).
