Some TV shows did have "one person episodes". Maude did one episode with just Maude talking to a psychiatrist (who we barely see and he never speaks) and another one where it's just Maude and Walter arguing about who "Maude" really is.

"MASH" did an all-Hawkeye episode where he has a head injury and dpeaks constantly to remain conscious while in the home of a Korean family and none of them understand what he is saying.

"All in the Family" had Archie in the cellar for 3/4 of the show by himself (though the others appeared in his imagination)

Not only do they never use the V word, no one has thought to take a cross or some garlic to use against Barnabas.

Its unusual that with all the lokkalikes Vicky see among the past and presnt time characters that the writers never had her meet Tony Peterson. it would have been interesing for her to see a Trask lookalike.

BTW..does Barnabas meet Tony prior to 1795? I know he had no reaction to him when he sees him post 1795.

So, who is this aunt who lives in Boston?

She could be:

a. Liz and Rogers sister
b. Nora Collins daughter
c. Paul Stoddard's sister

What do you think?

Everyone now seems to have been affected by Barnabas except these two (except Mrs. Johnson but she is usually on the sidelines anyway), yet neither one can believe that Barnabas is doing anything wrong. Despite the fact that a few people have voiced their suspicions.

It's too bad 1795 causes this storyline to be forgotten. The writers never did pick up on David's "mental illness" once the show returned to 1968. It's like they knew they had backed the show into a corner and hoped 5 months time off from this plot would make the audience forget about it.

At least they did remember that Carolyn is under Barnabas' spell and that he is still cold to Julia.

Dan Curtis would have had to pay the make-up artist, Dick Smith, for additional episodes if Barnabas continued for a while in his old age makeup.

DC did a rarity here by hiring one of the best men in make up for DS.

This was what led me to believe that the first syndicated episode of Willie releasing Barnabas was the real first episode of the series when I first saw it in the 80's. I wonder why the date wasn't changed for so long.

At least Burke and Dr. Woodard got proper sendoff's which is not what.......
Sam Evans got when he was killed off, not even a mention of his funeral. Unless you count Cassandra sending his ghost to rest in peace for eternity.

Roger was even sad about it!
We really do not need a fourth time scene of Willie Loomis going to the Collins Mausoleum and accidentally releasing Barnabas Collins.

Of all things, they could follow the Marilyn Ross DS novel's version of Barnabas Collins, which had him as a wandering (and unchained) vampire from 1795 to the present. The novels indicate that Joshua ordered Barnabas out of the country while the members of that Collins family were still alive.

Ron Sproat mentioned in an interview back in the 80's that the original plan to tell the story of Barnabas was through books and ghosts.

Perhaps this meant that they planning to stick with the original version of events mentioned during 1966-1967, but then decided to tell it in a time travel story which condenced everything to a 5 month period.

Though if they went with the story told by books and ghosts, it would have been interesting to see the characters thorugh the years..perhaps it was a span of 10 to 15 years.

Burke and Vicky would have been in for a handful had they moved into the west wing. Quentin would have been released a year earlier and Barnabas at this point would not have tried to save David in the least! He actually may have sat back and watched from afar!

I learned on one of the DS message boards that Peter Turgeon was supposed to play the originally planned male Dr. Julian Hoffman.

Sure am glad THAT never happened.

I can't picture Robert Gerringer saying that line. I miss him already. If I were Dr. Woodard, I secretly would have brought Sheriff Patterson, Joe, and Sam to the secret room. And I NEVER would have made my suspicions known to Julia!

General Hospital had some DS connections...Christopher Pennock (Jeb Hawkes) played Mitch Williams back in 1981 (he was Tracy Quartermain's husband at the time, a corrupt politician). Geoffrey Scott (Sky Rumson on DS) played David McAllister in 1989 (who was mysteriously recast a week before the character was killed off). Camilla Ashland (the woman who supposedly took care of a young Jeb Hawkes) was the original Alice Grant in 1977-1978. Ivor Francis (the doctor when Liz awakens from Laura's induced coma) was the father of GH's Genie Francis. Gordon Russell wrote the story of Hutch befriending Luke and Laura in 1981. Sam Hall was one of the writers in 1990.
