Current Talk '03 II / Barnabas Cape
« on: August 12, 2003, 02:33:38 PM »
Did you notice that in pt, just before they went to future time, Barnabas had on his cape and had his cane, and when they changed time he had neither.  Julia was dressed the same, he has no cape on.  You would have thought he would have been dressed the same.

Current Talk '03 I / Maggie's Green Suit
« on: June 14, 2003, 03:11:21 AM »

Friday's show, Maggies suit with the mini mini skit.  She could have worn the jacket alone, it wouldn't have been much shorter.  Then when Quentin carried her over the threshold, well?

I have just gotten DS back this week, haven't had it since January when our dish was ice damaged, now we have upgraded cable which took rewiring the whole town to get it to work.  We really had ancient cable, just local stations and a few others.

This is Friday the 13th.  It is nine PM here and we have man in our basement opening up our sewer line.  Need I say more.

Calendar Events / Announcements '02 II / OT, Tanis

Just want to check in with you.  I have learned I have rheumatoid arthritis.  I have been suffering major pain for the past six weeks.  I have seen several doctors and a rheumatologist told me yesterday I have rheumatoid arthritis.

I guess it doesn't choose ages, it can hit anyone at any time in their life.  Woman more commonly.  I am a woman and I am sixty two years old.  I thought I just had the aches and pains of old age, it began last spring and just kept getting worse.

Do any of you have any experience with this or have relatives who are dealing with this.  Interested in knowing what options they have chosen.  I have several to look at.  Currently on prednisione.  Had a shot directly in my left knee yesterday.  Feel better today.  My feet, hands, knees, and shoulders are involved.

Just wanted to share and see if you have anything to share back.

Current Talk '02 II / Adam
« on: September 06, 2002, 10:51:28 PM »
Interesting story today.  Barnabas shoots Adam in the shoulder.  Adam goes to Professor Stokes house where Progessor Stokes finds him holding his shoulder, note, no blood, no hole in the icky green sweater.  Should have been blood on his hands too.  Then Adam picks up a knife, stumbles around a bit with the business end of the knife aimed at his crotch, what if he falls forward.  Then in the scene where he is bandaged up, lo and behold he is wearing a red plaid shirt which Professor Stokes has found that fits him perfectly even to the point of being able to button it.  Amazing show today.

I thought it was pretty entertaining anyway.

Current Talk '02 II / Donnie B. Today

I wondered why his hair was sopping wet when he and Julia arrived at Collinwood.  I know it was thundering,  etc, but if it were raining that hard wouldn't Julia have had wet hair too.  Granted maybe she had one of those awful plastic rain bonnets, somehow I can picture her wearing one, but her coat was camel colored and would show raindrops quite well and there weren't any.  Maybe I missed something here, I don't know.

Current Talk '02 II / Reviewing DS
« on: August 23, 2002, 06:11:20 PM »
It's a given that we are intensely dissecting DS at the time of its first appearance on television.  With what they knew and what they had to work with in the late sixties and early seventies, and also the short amount of time they had for learning lines, budget problems etc, they probably did a pretty good job.

Now, if DS were running now, in this day and age, with the original cast, that I realize many are gone now, but if they were available at the age they were at the sixties presentation.  With the same writers, and basically the same script, however since people think differently about many topics now, what would DS look like if it were in the first run now, 2002.?

Current Talk '02 II / Let's Suppose?
« on: August 10, 2002, 04:43:00 AM »
One dark and stormy night you are traveling alone in a remote part of Maine.

The lightening is flashing, thunder is booming overhead, the wind is howling.  It's dark and very late.  You are eager to get to the next town of size and get a nice safe room.  You have the car radio playing loudly in attempt to dispel the loneliness.

Your car begins to slow down and sputter.  You pump the gas vainly to keep it running.  It stops.  There you are alone, all you can make out in the darkness are lights coming from a large stone mansion, and at a short distance another pillared mansion.

You know you must walk for help.  Where would you go?  How might you be welcomed at the house you choose?  Will be invited to spend the night?  What would your experience be?

Some food for thought for the weekend.

Current Talk '02 II / Suppose?
« on: July 30, 2002, 02:48:10 AM »
Now that I have your attention.

Suppose a giant hurricane was bearing down on Collinsport.  Where would they evacuate to?  Can't you just see some of them with their caskets on their back walking into the local gymnasium!!! :o

Current Talk '02 II / Where Would They Go/
« on: July 24, 2002, 10:36:39 PM »
If the Collins family or the other people we see on DS were to go on a trip or vacation, where would they go.

What kind of luggage would they take, how much, and what would they pack? 8) 8) 8)

Current Talk '02 II / Locked Doors?
« on: July 18, 2002, 06:07:47 PM »
Today's episodes gave a resemblance to normal people who lock doors and go to bed wondering why other people are out wandering around.  Normal people is stretching it I know.

Current Talk '02 I / Hurry Up
« on: June 26, 2002, 08:39:12 PM »
Okay, Julia decides she has buried Barnabas alive, then she hems and haws around forever getting around to digging him up.  I would have been right out the door with the shovel.  Stokes was a rather slow digger but he did say he wasn't used to such work.  Then Julia is brushing the dirt of the coffin before she opens it up.

For a life or death situation, really drawn out.  She's a doctor she should know every minute counts when a person has no oxygen.  She'd make a really poor EMT.

Current Talk '02 I / Just Observations
« on: June 20, 2002, 10:20:51 PM »
Today when Cassandra called Sam from the grave, did they bury him in his overcoat.  Seems strange that he appeared in it.

When Barnabas went running out of the house he was wearing his smoking jacket and in the woods you could see he had the suit jacket on then.  I didn't even think he had time to grab his overcoat.  He was also wearing that.

I think Nicholas Blair is a grand master of witchcraft.  Angelique wants to be but uses her own ideas to get what she wants.

Yesterday when Nicholas put the herbal potion in one of the wine glasses and no one drank it, he set both of the glasses together and left them there untouched.  What if someone else drank the potion or worse dumped it back into the bottle? ?!? ?!? ?!?

Just some observations.
