Current Talk '08 I / Re: Bill Malloy and the early days of Collinwood

Bill Malloy should have been kept as a character because he really made you feel that they were in MAINE, not some vacation town in Massachusetts.

Yeah, near as I can tell, only Bill Malloy and the original Matthew ever spoke with a Maine accent.  I never heard any other characters utter the word "ayuh."

I forget what font the "ark hadows" part is, but the D and the S are in Old English, which is a commercial font, not free.

Did anything happen with this?  Does it still exist somewhere?  I'd love to have a complete list.

No biggie... it's not easy to keep track of 1225 episodes of a TV show.  [ghost_blink]

Carolyn returns the "compliment" in episode 49 after he tells her he loves her.  Wow, I wonder why they never worked out?

Liz's 18 years were referred to right back to Episode 1.  Episode five reveals that Liz hasn't left the grounds since her husband left her, six months before Carolyn was born (although, it will later be rewritten that Carolyn was a baby when her father left).  In Episode 6, Matthew reveals that Liz fired the entire Collinwood staff and hired him, immediately after her husband left.  Paul's first name isn't given until Episode 79 when Mrs. Johnson speaks it.

Also, technically, the first time that Liz left the grounds was in Episode 161 when she was sent to a Boston hospital after being put into a coma by Laura Collins.

I have to confess that I haven't watched Ep #148 in ages, so I don't honestly recall how the scenes between Frank and Lt. Riley are established, but is it at all possible that Frank could have simply been borrowing Roger's office for the day? Do the Garner's even have offices in Collinsport? I thought their offices were only in Bangor.  [idontknow]

No, the scene took place in Bangor.  148 was the second and last time the G&G office was shown.  The other time was in 92.  Roger's office at the cannery was shown in episodes 45, 46, 47, 54, 68 and 69.  I'm not sure if the set was reused for anything else.

Is there a book or website that cites this information?  I'd be interested in knowing which actress played the role in each specific episode.  As well as all the other "stand-in" roles on the show.

They really didn't add anything to the kitchen, other than a table.  All the kitchen consists of is the counter behind them, which can be seen in most shots of the hotel room.  For this episode, they decided to film from inside that room and point the camera towards the door so they didn't have to add anything to the set.  They also filmed from inside there once when Burke was watching David from the doorway in an early episode.

It's unfortunate that the last scene of episode 64 doesn't have a shot of that wall, or there'd literally have to have been a ghost mover, since that scene runs directly into the scene with Burke at the start of 65.  As it stands, technically someone could've moved the paintings between the last two drawing room scenes in episode 64.

Wow, I can't believe no one's looked this up yet!  I just checked, and the portrait first appeared in episode 65.  The picture of Isaac first appeared in episode 3, on the left side of the drawing room window.  In episode 4, Isaac's portrait was moved to the RIGHT side of the window, where it stayed until it was replaced by Leonardo in episode 65.  I'm not sure what happened to the Isaac portrait.  Perhaps it was damaged.  You can see Leonardo's first appearance on Disc 4 of The Beginning Collection 2 at about 44:44 into the disc.

Current Talk '06 I / Dark Shadows Festivals

I'm doing work on including past Dark Shadows events for CollinWiki and was wondering if there's a website with information on past DS festivals and events.  Dates, locations, guest lists, activities, etc.  If not, perhaps everyone can share stories of the ones they've attended?

Wow, how strange this happens just as I'm working on the Births and Deaths sections of CollinWiki.  It's almost like a plot from the show itself!

R.I.P. Dan and Norma.  Together forever.
