Simon here. I just re-read my post and realized I left out one of my tales in my synopsis. Just after "Vegeance of the Witch" and before "The Return of Count Petofi" is one my more unusual tales.

I titled it "Children of the Damned II": (Named of course for the movie of the same name. Just as DS was always borrowing themes from horror films I saw no reason not to do the same.) Elizabeth Stoddard throws a dinner party to celebrate the return of Quentin Collins and his new bride Tracy. (Kate Jackson). At 9:15pm everyone at the dinner table suddenly blacks out simultaneously and awakens simultaneously 6 hours later. Confused as to what could have happened to them, their confusion turns to horror as all the females at that dinner party soon learn that they are expecting a child! Even the virgins Amy and Hallie and Mrs. Stoddard herself who knows that she had a complete hysterectomy 10 years earlier.

This was actually the first tale where I began creating my own photos. Prior to this I simply used existing photos to illustrate my tales.

Ok hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them. Hope to see you all on my site.

Greetings fellow DS fans,

Some of you will remember me while others may not. My name is Simon Magus and for many years I had my own DS fan fiction site on msn groups sites but they shut it down. They did however provide us with a place to tranfer our site to.

So my site can now be found on the Multiply sites at http://simonmagus.multiply.com

The great thing about the new site is that I can add photos within the text of my stories. To help illustrate my tales I have been creating my own trick photos that I am sure you will find interesting. The great thing about that is these photos can be found no where else but on my site.

You will find them on page 4 of the photos section in the album marked 'Trick Photos" and also of course within the pages of the stories themselves.

I also have tons of other DS photos. An album of all the paintings ever shown on the show. Photos of the original series in chronological order. Photos from the two films and also the 91 series. I am always adding more photos to my site so check back monthly.

Also in the photos section you will find the DS original art gallery where members include their own DS art work, also not found anywhere else but on my site.

Now as for my stories. I have begun, as far as I know, the only continious DS fan fiction tale on the web. It takes up right where the series left off and I labor to keep it faithful to the continuity of the show.

For beginners I recommend you scroll down to the story "Time after Time" and begin reading there.

Here is a short synopsis of my continous tales to wet your appetites. My site is free incidently but I need more members. I had over 200 of them on my original groups site but lost most of them when I had to move to Multiply. So spread the word please.

"Time After Time"; Barnabas, Julia and Prof. Stokes return from their sojourn to 1841 only to find to their shock that the timeline has been changed beyond all recognition. They must find out what they did in the past that changed things so and go back to try and repair it.

"Blood Relations" Begins where the series left us with Elizabeth rushing into the drawing room to inform Barnabas, Julia and the Professor that Roger is giving a speech at the historical society. Afterwards Barnabas returns to the Old House only to find to his shock that Roxanne is still chained up in her coffin behind the book case even though Barnabas knows that she was destroyed in 1840 by her brother Randall Drew.

"Moonlight Carnival" Chris and Amy Jennings return to Collinsport seeking help as they are being pursued by 3 werewolves out to destroy them named Dragomir Rakosi (Johnny Depp), Stefan Rakosi (Tim Burton) and Marianne Rakosi (Madonna) (Yep I wrote this long before I heard the news that Johnny Depp will be starring in the new DS film. Life imitates art I suppose)

"Shades of Future Past"; Carolyn Stoddard Hawkes discovers the stairway of time and ends up in 1798 where she encounters not only Victoria Winters but also to her shock her late husband Jeb Hawkes.

"Vengeance of the Witch"; Everyone at Collinwood is disturbed by the return of Cassandra Collins. No one more so than Barnabas Collins who knows that she died in his arms in 1841.

"The Return of Count Petofi"; The title says it all. Don't miss it.

Even as we speak I am tying more sequels and will continue to do so as long as I can keep the story going. I hope to see you all there.

Greetings DS fans,

Please check out the latest renditions from Silent Insanity. She's posted some new works starring Barnabas, Angelique, Trask, Quentin and Magda.

I simply love her style. It's members like her that are making the DS art gallery a real treasure for all DS fans.

Ok check it out at

Yes I read that in Shadowgram yesterday. Isn't that fantastic news? I guess some dreams do come true.

The weird part for me is that I just finished writing a DS fan fiction story starring Johnny Depp, Tim Burton and Madonna as 3 new characters. It's called "Moonlight Carnival" if you want to check it out on my site.

Nope. Anything too large for my po box they leave me a key to the numbered larger boxes .

Thanks for asking that. In case others thought the same thing. So if anyone wanted to paint a portrait on canvas they could mail it in an envelope and I would still get it.

Greetings DS fans,
Just to update you, on this site we have had 213 views of this post and presumably the artwork. On the Svi Fi DS forum I had 119 views so far and on the World of Fantasy DS site another 30 views making the grand total of DS fans who viewed 362.

Not bad. But still only one new artist and another who pledged some art in the future.

So here is hoping some of you will step forward and pledge a future contribution at least.

The url once again is...
http://groups.msn.com/TheDarkShadowsofSimonMagus

Or mail me your art and I will get it on the gallery at Simon Magus, P.O. Box 7673, St. Petersburg, Fl. 33734

Ok thanks again

Alright!!! Another brave soul has at least pledged some future artwork.

I knew if I begged and pleaded enough someone out there would take pity on me.

Excellent suggestion you made by the way.

Ok if any of you have artistic talent but no scanner you can mail me your art along with the name you wish it to be posted under and I will get it on the site. I don't have a scanner myself currently but I do have a friend who does and I plan to be getting one soon.

Ok mail any artwork to...

Simon Magus, P.O. Box 7673, St. Petersburg, Fl. 33734

Thanks again

Ok it's July 2nd. Simon Magus here. Back to bug and beg once again for more DS art.

Now how many members are on this site exactly? I refuse to believe that only Arashi has any talent out there.

Now get busy with your pencils, pens and paintbrushes people!!

I bet if I had a contest with cash reward there would be so many entries it would crash my site.

Oh reguarding the post where I asked Heather to post her Frid art. She politely refused my offer and said that she had to reserve it for her portfolio. (Naturally she assumed I was bright enough to understand what her portfolio was or why she could post it here but not on my site? Neither of which I understand but can take "No" for an answer. So she is off the hook. Sort of; I did ask her if she would do some art strictly for my site though. Because I am just that pushy!!)

Also off the hook is Midnite who I asked to post her fabulous Quentin/Werewolf morphing image in an album on my site and she informed me she was way too busy moderating this site to do so.

(Sighs...rubs face) So no hard feelings to either of these two...no....none at all...(sniffs) It doesn't bother me in the least to come here day after day and see the Frid or werewolf staring me in the face. MOCKING ME!!! Saying to the world look what I can do and you are waaaay to stupid to ever be able to do!!  How dare you to even ask us to post our art on you insignificant little site you stupid little worm!! Oh why me Lord!! Forgive these two for ripping out my heart and spitting in my face this way!! For grinding me into the dirt and for cybernetically kicking me in the groin like this!!

(Ok wait. I just took my medicine so I think I will be ok now.)

So who is next to post on my art gallery!! Come on! You know you want to!

Don't make me come to your houses!!

Arashi!! Ah there you are! I cannot thank you enough for your fabulous contribution to the DS Art Gallery.

Words fail me. Easily my favorite contribution right up there with Al Cardin's DS comic that he wrote and drew.

The wonderful thing about art is no two artists ever draw the same subject the same way. Your contribution is the only example of your your style of DS artwork anywhere in the world.

I hope time allows for you to draw Barnabas and Count Petofi in this style. Like you 1897 was also my favorite seqment on the series.

Well the site will only be up forever so there is no rush. Thank you once again for this terrific contribution.

Hello again, Simon Magus here. They say ask and ye shall recieve and I am glad to announce that another artist has stepped forward to contribute to the DS Art Gallery.

Did you ever wonder what our favorite DS characters would look like if drawn by Japanese Anime? Check out the work of Kuroyama_Arashi on my site.

I flipped when I saw these. I have always dreamed of an animated movie of Dark Shadows. But I could never picture what the characters would look like. Now I know! I can actually see them moving and interacting in my mind.

What Arashi has done is hand draw them and then use photo shop to color them and I think it's a fabulous addition to the gallery.

Oh since I have your attention, re; the post where I asked Midnite to try and find the DS portaits on the show. Well guess what? Someone already did this. Type in The Olivia Corey Memorial Art Show in your search engine and lo and behold there they are? Along with some very funny captions. So now I can post them myself as soon as I get my new printer and scanner.

I tried to post a link to the site but failed. Probably my silly msntvsystem. But it's easy to find in search.

Ok I'll keep you posted if we get any more art on the gallery.

Holy Smokes! I just found Heather's rendition of Barnabas under her post Re; Frid Art. Isn't that fantastic!!

I posted to her hoping she will post it on my DS art gallery. She mentioned doing one of Julia too.

Just the kind of original artwork I want.

Greetings Heather, Simon Magus here. On my own fan fiction site I have reserved the "pictures" section as an on line DS art Gallery.

I sure would love to have your art in the gallery. If you have the time, please visit my site, check out the gallery and start your own album there.

Your art is fabulous by the way. I posted here recently seeking more DS artists and then spotted your post. You art would really be a great addition to our gallery. I hope you will take me up on my offer.

 Here's where to go...

Ok we got waaay off topic. My fault. I do tend to ramble on, I know. But the original topic is the DS art gallery. I was gratified to see 80 people so far have checked out this post. Hopefully they checked out the gallery too.

Ok listen up. We need more art or even just a promise of art would do. Now I know you're holding out on me out there. I bet a lot of you have undiscovered talent. Why not put it to good use?

Or if you know someone who has artistic talent but is not a DS fan, then print off some Collins photos from a site such as the Dark Shadows Files which is linked to my own. They have tons of photos. Pick out a few, print them off and see if you can encourage your talented friend to create some original artwork for us.

Well I guess you got the idea by now. I'll get off my pulpit.
