[snow_bigglass] I know you'll have a wonderful time.  I've been twice & will either go again later this year or next year.  But I think we're just going to Venice - a week in Venice to soak in that exotic city & sketch & drink wine etc.

Do you all remember that song on the juke box that Carolyn danced to?    They played it at least twice before the curtain went up.  It brought back memories.  The play was Die Mommie Die.

Arashi,
Thanks for the link.  I guess I missed that sitcom the first time around.

Calendar Events / Announcements '08 I / DS Fest mentioned on sitcom

[snow_bigglass] I usually fall asleep watching reruns of Sex & the City and when I woke up to turn the TV off, I heard two men discussing the Dark Shadows Fest & how he couldn't go now that he had a girlfriend.  I listened for about 5 min while the talked about DS.  Don't have a clue as to what show it was.    I think it was Tuesday night.
I've been enjoying this forum.

Current Talk '06 II / Re: The Best and Worst of Fan Fic!
« on: December 04, 2006, 04:01:18 AM »
I've throughly enjoyed the fanfic posted on the various boards & websites.  And I think I've ordered everything Kathy Resh has.   I've tried my hand at a few and because of my fledging attempts at DS fanfic, I've joined a local chapter of RWA so I hope my writing improves.  It is a great stress reducer & I often find myself at work dreaming up new scenarios for our beloved DS characters.

My best friend knows I watch it but that's about it.  Dark Shadows has been mentioned in passing & everyone remembers it fondly but they don't have a desire to rewatch it.  To them its just a pleasant childhood memory.  I've taped it from the sci/fi channel & now I'm buying the DVDs.   :-*  I haven't watched it lately so I'm looking forward to doing that. Plus, I like to paint while I'm listening to it in the background.  For a long time I couldn't paint unless DS was on. :-[

And I can remember the religious zealots making a fuss over it.  In fact, I think DS was pulled before it ended because of the controversary.  So I was delighted to find the tapes at the video store.  I watched the series 5 times and there at the end the workers at the video store would comment on my watching it so often.  Now I have my own copy and don't have to deal with their petty remarks. :D

:'( Alas, I won't be going to the fest.  But I would love to know what fanfic is available there.  I thought I had bought everything available;D

Bob,

Great question. Until I read your post I never gave that much thought.  I just assumed  Samatha was taunting Quentin.  But, it could very well have been Gabriel.  Lamar Trask?  Hmmm, maybe.  Ben Stokes?  But, if I were Samatha I wouldn't have looked at another man.

[hello] [hello]Tough question, I liked all of them, but I must say that the 1795  Angelique was my favorite, followed by 1897 and then 1840.  I agree, I wish they would have shown Barnabas & Angelique in Martinique.

[bow]  Yes, I remember the shag.  Everybody had one but me.  It wasn't until the 80's when the layered look was so popular that I broke down & had my hair & styled.  Wasn't the shag hard to grow out?

:DI agree, Tony & Carolyn would have made a lovely couple.   I always wished that DC would have done something more with Tony Peterson.

Never thought of Roger Davis as Jeb.  Was Carolyn ever romantically linked with Davis' characters?

:DCarol, that's a great idea.  When I read Shadows on the Wall I found myself wishing the writers had followed it closer.  Hmm, I missed the part about Liz & Bill Malloy.  Perhaps I'll re-read it soon.

8)Loved your commentary on Olivia.  Tate did paint multiples of her.  Trask destroyed the one Judith left with him.

Pink is really in right now.  And lots of styles from the 60's are showing up in the stores.  Those rolled collars were really popular back then.  I had quite a few of them myself.

Loved your comments.  I agree, there's a story there - Liz & Paul.  Will you be writing one for us?  Just love your writing.  I haven't watched last weeks episodes yet so I'll be sure to take note of the clothes.  I think I had some similar back then.  Hearing about Oliva Corey's orange pantsuit makes me want to rush out & buy one. :D
