Current Talk '03 II / Re:Barnabas is head over heels again....he thinks

The Barn/Roxanne relationship is one of my DS pet peeves, so indulge me this rant  >:D.

Of all the lame-brained, bone-headed pairings the DS writers ever created, this was the worst.  (OK, I know some of you Q-man/Olivia bashers might argue this point with me.)  Frid played a really believable tragic romantic figure when paired with the right character, actress, and story line.  This is what made his passion for Josette and Victoria so compelling and often heart-breaking when it didn't work out.  Roxanne in all her incarnations is grating and ill-conceived (I won't mention the acting or bad hair  ::)). It is incomprehensible that anyone, even the zombie sherrif, could be so infatuated with her.

KEASUS (who, believe it or not, is actually sugar-coating it  >:(

Count me in as another DS fan who can't stand Roxanne.  In fact, after Peter Bradford/Jeff Clarke et al., she is my least favorite character on the show ever.  At least in these first few shows, she's mute.  Just wait until the dialogue starts.  You can hear the straining noise as Donna Wandry tries to strrrrr-eee-ccc-hhhh those acting muscles.  [crazd]

OK, you ratted me out, Midnite. I do have an immediate aversion to any RD character (but then they are pretty much all the same  >:D).  However, don't think because he's gone, you'll escape my whining.  My second least favorite character is about to be introduced in PT.  (Hint:  it's a certain groovey shag-wearing 70s chick that somehow got lost on her way to the Brady Bunch audition and ended up on DS instead.)

P.S. to everyone:  Thanks for all the kind greetings and welcome messages.  Tha's why I love this board.  You guys rock!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome, Patti.  Actually I am a long-time lurker who used to post occasionally.  This is the first time I've posted a message to the new board, so pardon my lack of expertise.

Even though the current episodes of DS are among my least favorite, I still can't resist peeking in to see what people are saying.  I confess I was a die-hard Vicki fan from when the show began in 1966 and was really bummed out when they wrote the character out of the show.  And this last bit of business with Peter Bradford and Jeb . . . YUCK!

Possible Spoiler

Hi Midnite,

Now that we have since the last of Roger Davis's characters on DS (WOO HOOO!!!!), what was the final tally for the hair touching/grabbing/yanking?

Gratefully,

Current Talk '02 II / Roger Davis's Characters
« on: September 10, 2002, 09:08:23 PM »
Even though I haven't posted here in a while, I have been lurking.   I've wanted to unleash a tirade about the Jeff Clarke character, whom I detested the first time I saw him in 1968, but others have posted more eloquently (and hilariously) on the subject than I could ever hope.

Since the subsequent  characters Roger Davis portrays are basically variations on the same irritating theme, was there ever a fan backlash backlash any time one of his new characters appeared, or were viewers more tolerant back then?
