I watched 1897 again recently and unless I missed some key point, Barnabas was presented as being cured towards the end of the storyline. He could walk by day, was unafraid of crucifixes, etc. And Angelique may have administered the injections, but it was Julia's formula. Therefore, I think Julia would be well within her rights to say that she did indeed cure Barnabas once.

Current Talk '11 I / Re: How to explain 1840 Angelique...?

Doesn't some of that confusion stem from Angelique saying that it was from Vicki's ramblings in the past that she knew Barnabas existed in 1967/68? It's never stated that Nicholas existed in 1795-96, only that Angelique was allowed to return to re-curse Barnabas. He does get extremely pissed at her when her Dream Curse scheme failed to achieve its goal. Since Barnabas did strangle Angelique to death in 1796 and she was seen as a ghost, I always assumed that Angelique and Nicholas met up in Hell and cut a deal, enabling her to return in '68. This, of course, makes her existence in 1840-41 even more of WTF? than it already was. lol  [8311]

I've read a lot of historical fiction so the idea of romantic relationships between cousins doesn't really strike me as skeevy, but I think I would draw the line at uncle and niece...even a couple of generations apart as Liz and Quentin would be.

But, to be perfectly frank, I'm not a big fan of Lara Parker's take on the DS world in general, so I probably won't be reading her new tome anyway.

Calendar Events / Announcements '10 II / Re: Lara Parker's Third DS novel?

In the show, the family Bible listed Elizabeth as being born in 1917.

The ages and dates that they gave us on DS were often so out there, that I usually just make up my own calculations.  It saves me from a lot of headaches trying to figure things out. lol. But if Lara Parker's new masterpiece has Liz as being old enough for romance in the 1920s, she must have been in her 60s/early 70s during the show's timeline. That is way out there.  [ghost_shocked]
