Diana Millay was a pinup girl?!

She sure was! Though she downplayed that part of her career at the festivals, Diana had quite the career as what was referred to as a figure model back in the day. She appeared in quite a few men's magazines with provocative titles like Stag, Bold, Jest, Bachelor and Focus. Diana made the cover on several of the magazines and appeared in at least one centerfold. Clad in skimpy lingerie but no nudity, at least none that I have found.

The pictures are easily accessible through Google Images and can be downloaded for your amusement.

She felt that doing DS was better than debasing herself in the psycho biddies movies that her contemporaries Bette Davis and Joan Crawford had done.

My loss back then so far as the photo goes, though apparently I didn't miss much so far as the accompanying article goes. But then, that article wasn't the only one back then in which Joan derided aspects of the show (most often her "hideous" wig).

The actor in the picture with her is Dick Sabol, who did a one episode appearance as Ezra Braithwaite in the 1897 sequence. Also in the cast of Burlesque was Rue Mclanahan.
