Title: A Halloween Treat - DS Music CD
Post by: PennyDreadful on October 13, 2005, 03:49:26 PM
MUSIC INSPIRED BY DARK SHADOWS!
A CD featuring songs inspired by and/or referencing DS

Just in time for Halloween, I'm offering this little treat again!  I have five of them ready to go.

However, as I am still an impecunious graduate student, I am asking for $6.00 to cover shipping & handling costs this time.  To make up for it, I added one extra song to the mix.

I'll send a copy to the first five people who post in response to this, and are willing to cover the $6.00.  Once there are 5 posts, I'll PM you my address.

MUSIC INSPIRED BY DARK SHADOWS includes the following songs:

1. The Moon-Rays - Dark Shadows - Exotique
2. Vampire State Building - Barnabas
3. Book of Love - Witchcraft
4. Lone Ranger - Barnabas Collins
5. Majenta Jets - Angelique
6. Kenya Collins - Barnabas Collins, Love Bandit
7. The Damned - End of Time
8. Oval Portrait - Barnabus Collins Has More Skeletons In His Closet Than Vincent Price
9. Kate Campbell - When Panthers Roamed In Arkansas
10. Oneiroid Psychosis - Dark Shadows Theme

Behold! My goofy album cover...  [hall2_wink] [hall_wink]

Please don't count me, as I was a lucky recipient from the last time!  Thank you again.   [hall2_cheesy]

I highly recommend PennyDreadful's compilations.  And hey, I adore your album cover!  Congrats on getting a copy of "Vampire State Building."

I'm partial to "End of Time," my daughter likes "Witchcraft," and my son says the Oval Portrait song "doesn't suck."   [hall2_rolleyes]

I second that emotion!  Like Midnite, I am not to be counted, since I was lucky enough to win one last time.  This is a really fine collection. I think my favorite song on it is the Book of Love's Witchcraft because it is just such fun.  I also found the two versions of the theme song to be very haunting and beautiful.

Penny Dreadful, you fiercely rule at the turntable!  Keep those platters spinning, girl!

doffing cap,

G.

I too can not be counted because I was lucky enough to win it before.  But, my 7 years old grandaughter was here for a couple months this summer and she would play that DS CD for hours at a time.  She absolutly loves it. [hall_grin]

So please, if you are thinking about getting the DS CD, you had better get it right now, because it is great.  I mean even Erin (that's her name) loves it.  Put your name down NOW! [hall2_smiley]

Thanks for the "thumbs up" on the CD Midnite, Gothick and TERRY308!  Bette, you are indeed "number one"!  [hall2_smiley]  Patti, PM me if you are number 2!

If you dig the CD, you might also enjoy the new television show I'm working on for cable access.  It's called "Penny Dreadful's Shilling Shockers."  It'll be a classic horror-host type show with a haunted New England flair.  We'll show a vintage public domain horror movie every week and host the bits in between.  It'll be hosted by myself (as a witch), and I'll be assisted by my husband (a werewolf) and our crabby next door neighbor & reluctant friend/arch-enemy Dr. manfred Von Bulow (a retired monster hunter).  We hope to get the show on around New England and in other locations.  One of the episodes is called "Drunk Shadows" and will feature some shots of Seaview Terrace and quite a few DS references.  We are still in production and probably won't be done with season one until at least late December. BUT, once it's ready, I will most likely have a similar "first five posts" thread for the video of the DS-themed episode!

Here's a sneak peek of "Shilling Shockers"....

Sorry to get off-topic.  Still a few of these CDs left for those who want them!

Hi Penny Dreadful,

Yesterday I finallly got around to looking at those two stills from your show.  A real blast!  I agree with Midnite that you make a very lovely Witch.  I also like the taste in wardrobe shown by the "detective" in the trench coat--looks as if he raided the closet of our own Mr. Roger Collins!

The handcuffed werewolf reminds me of when they put QWolf in "gaol," too.

"Shilling shocker" is such a clever little phrase.  Brilliant!  Obviously, the logical successor to a penny dreadful.

Great stuff, and I wish I could watch!

Best, Steve

Barnabas'sBride is number four!  One more CD left!

Thanks for the compliments on the stills Midnite & Gothick!  I'll post when season one starts airing and on which cable systems it can be found.  I may also do a giveaway for the "Drunk Shadows" episode (which will feature Roger Corman's "The Terror" with Boris Karloff and a young Jack Nicholson).

If you never gave away the 5th CD, I'll take it!   I know it's a longshot, but I ddn't even know about this board in 2005.
