August 7 is a sad anniversary for Grayson Hall's fans; it marks, this year, the 18th anniversary of her passing in 1985.
I've been told that when Grayson finally signed a contract for her work on One Life to Live in 1982-83, she informed a friend: "Darling, I've had a clause added: There will be no more goddamned tweed and no more high heels!" I love to think of her feisty, indomitable spirit, and instead of mourning, I'd rather share a smile and a laugh at the utter insanity of the world with this most earthy of spirits.

I read somewhere that August 7 is also the anniversary of David Ford's death. I believe tomorrow will mark the 20th anniversary of his death. It's ironic that Grayson and David played sister and brother during the 1795 flashback on Dark Shadows and both died on August 7. David, of course portrayed Josette's father and Grayson portrayed her aunt.
...........Rest in peace, Grayson and David.

I think of Grayson as a wonderful actress, much-loved and loving wife and mother and someone I wished I could have met personally.
It gives me a pang to realize that the one day I visited the DS studio, she was there, but the friend who promised we would get in didn't come through--and I even missed seeing the stars exit because my brother came to collect me and take me home on the train!
Grayson was a special lady, and I'd like to think that, wherever she is, she knows how dedicated you are to her and the book you're writing about her, Steve.

Thanks, Robin. I do hope you and your husband have a wonderful time on your cruise. I'm glad you're getting away for some time together!

Steve, what a lovely tribute. As a longtime Grayson fan, I just wanted to say 'thank you'. I do not make it to the forum very often and this was nice to see. I'm with you. Let's celebrate the life of a talented lady.
