Very sad news.
I thought she was a great addition to the DS cast, and found that her performance as Buffie Harrington elevated the often dull (IMO) Cyrus Longworth-John Yaeger storyline. She reminded me of a tragic film noir heroine, the tarnished gal who dreams of being a lady, who stands by the guy and usually ends up being killed for her efforts.
RIP, Elizabeth.

very sad indeed. buffy harrington and hannah stokes were two of those short term players that for me really left an impression and were high points of the parallel time storyline. i was saddened when buffy suddenly faded away.
buffy was that proverbial girl-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-tracks who just wanted some love and understanding. eis brough great pathos to what could have easily been an unmemorable role. her style brought a touching realism to what otherwise could have been a very silly plot. she had a great hairdo. and that funky apartment with the only television set ever seen on the series.

I quite enjoyed Elizabeth's three roles on the show. Buffy is the most realized of the three but Nell Gunston and Mildred Ward were not without their moments. Sadly, I never got to meet her at the one Festival that she attended. But I have seen her in Dear, Dead Delilah. Elizabeth, Agnes Moorhead and Dennis Patrick on a plantation with ax murders aplenty. Not exactly Masterpiece Theatre but extremely entertaining.

Sad news indeed. That Elizabeth developed a following among fans in recent years is, as far as I'm concerned, entirely due to herself and the dignity and humanity she projected in roles that weren't all that well scripted or conceived. I also missed her one Festival appearance. She will be missed.

I met her at the DS studio during the spring on 1970. She was very friendly and cordial to all of us at the studio. I liked her,, and am sad to hear this. Rest in Peace Elizabeth.Richie

How sad! She was, bar none, my favorite semi-semi-performer on the show. RIP.

I'm sad to learn this news. I really enjoyed all her work on DS - especially her portrayal of 1970PT's Buffie. But the nice thing is that, as with all the departed DS actors, her contributions to DS live on. And the funny thing is that, at least for me, when I watch DS it rarely enters my head that so and so has passed on because they're alive and vibrant on my TV screen - and that's the way I like to remember them all.

I remember her being involved in the PT1970 storyline when most everybody else was making HODS.

How sad. I thought her portrayal of Buffie was an absolute stand-out that made the whole Longworth/Yaeger storyline a lot more plausible and adult. She was very good also as Nell Gunston and Mildred Ward.
How fortunate that her youthful energy and commitment will live on for us.
