I settled this one in my mind by saying that Barnabas came from the original timeline, the one where Phyllis Wick was the governess hung as a witch. But this version of Angelique was from the altered timeline and, therefore, she knew Vicki.

Works for me.  [santa_grin]

When Vicky is lying on the couch after returning from the past, she says something that causes Barnabas to make a face realizing that she did go to 1795.

Later in 1968, there was a Barnabas/Julia conversation in which he actually does talk about his remembering Vicki in 1795.   Apparently the time line takes a little time to sort itself out, as they once said on the science fiction comedy "Red Dwarf"...

Yes Magnus, Barnabas has dialogue in that scene that goes something like, "the past is constantly being re-lived, ever changing..." which seems to have become one of the operating mottos for the writers on DS.

I often wonder if this line is to give them the freedom to re-write stories, as the did with the two episode 1796 arc at the end of 1897, or if it was to cover their tracks when they goofed!

I think of those two episodes as being a fantasy brought on by the Leviathans to trap Barnabas
