Roy Thinness, best known to Shadows fans as Roger Collins and Reverend Trask on the DS '91 revival, is doing three upcoming fan conventions.
First, The Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Fest in Hunt Valley Md (near Baltimore) on Thurs/Fri/Sat September 23/24/25

Other guests at this show will include Dawn Wells (Mary Ann of Gilligan's Island), Ed Nelson (Peyton Place) and Geri Reischel (Jan Brady # 2). (Please note Van Williams has had to cancel)
on Oct 8-10 (Fri-Sun) He will be at the Hollywood Collector's Show, Burbank.

Other guest too numerous to mention, but includes a Twin peaks and Land of the Giants Reunion
As mentioned in another post, he will be at Chiller's 20th Anniversary show

This is also a chance to be my hero, John Astin - Gomez Addams
Thinness was also in Dan Curtis's pilot/TV Movie "The Norliss Tapes", the Sci Fi series "The Invaders" and was an early cast member of "General Hospital"

This links to another topic that mentions his Maryland appearance:
Upcoming Roy Thinnes appearance
Sorry for beating a dead horse (I posted a similar comment in the above topic after Rebecca Staab was added to the guest list for the 2010 Spring Hollywood Collectors Show), but what a shame that Thinnes will be at the Burbank Marriott for the next HCS yet did not attend the recent Fest.

So how was RT as Trask? Did he do the booming voice?
-
Here's the aspect of Trask that would surely interest you most, Magnus:
Trask Thinnes' caterpillar eyebrows are deeply, harrowingly, traumatizingly SCARY.

What, I'm an eyebrow freak now?! Anyway, I'll have to see this someday. I think I was PO'd at remakes back then... I still am, actually...

Please don't force us to point out your many posts about them. Many posts. [ghost_wink]

Met Roy Thinnes today. A truly great guy and an easy person to chat with. No "Trask" photos tho. [ghost_sad]

Pic from today.

Ok, she wasn't on Shadows, but hey, Dawn Wells ! Who doesn't love the vampire or Jekyll/Hyde episodes, or the classic Vito Scotti episodes of Gilligan. [ghost_cheesy]

Thanks so much for sharing, Cyrus. [ghost_smiley]

Those are really nice photos, Cyrus. I really enjoyed Roy Thinnes' work on The Norless Tapes and The Invaders (a show that fascinated me when it was on originally).
Dawn Wells is so charming. And incredibly youthful looking! She looks far too young to have been a TV star in 1965!

Met RT at Chiler Theatre over Halloween and, like Cyrus, I found him quite personable and charming. He had only 1 DS photo at his table. A cast photo. Alas, no Trask pix. Was not expecting him to have a ponytail though!
-
And did you compare notes on playing Roger? ;)
-
Actually, we discussed Victoria Winters' Bogus adventure!
-
[lghy] I hope you pointed him to the YouTube video. [wink2]
-
No, he wasn't quite that interested!
