Nice photos!
I didn't realize Donna McKechnie was there!  Didn't see her mentioned anywhere.
Anyone talk to her or get a picture with her?

 ;D

Donna was very pleasant. I'd had the pleasure of meeting her on two different occasions a few years back and she was very cordial then as well. I really enjoyed the Q&A about her book and picked one up at her table. Here is a photo I took with her when I bought the book.  ;D

[hello]

That is a GORGEOUS picture.  You both look great.
I'd like to read her book.  Is there any detail in it about how she overcame arthritis and was able to dance again?

 ;D

Great photo, Bob!

Absolutely.  It's a very personal account, with details about her battles with rheumatoid arthritis and depression.  Definitely check it out, Connie.

The set looks amazing, I wish I'd been there to see it.

I do feel that there's one thing that needs to be said:
while I enjoy seeing photos of fans with the stars, photos the fans took themselves, I feel it is wrong for any fan to be in an official cast photo.

Over the years, going back to the 80s, I've seen far too many fans befriend actors, then behave as itis their job/right to keep other fans away from their new friends.
I was once told by a fellow fan that I needed his "permission" to approach one of the actors during a fest!
Another claimed that he was one of the reasons people kept coming to the fests!!!

Befriending the actors in wonderful, I've befriended two of them outside of fandom.
Costume contests, conducting onstage Q & As, all great things to do, but no fan can claim to have been on Dark Shadows, and no fan should act as if they were.

I can only assume you're referring to Jim Pierson and Richard Halperin being in the cast photo's they are in.  If so, they were part of the two reinactments so they are actually justified in being in those photos.  Jim was the 2nd coachman in the reinactment of episode 1245 and Richard was the narrator and conductor in episode 1.  ;)

Amazon has it for $16.50.  If you're a B&N member, your local store should have it for $18.  It was $20 at the Fest.

Yes, the Lincoln Center B&N on Oct. 6.

Also Sept. 12 at the Drama Book Shop in NYC,
Sept. 16 at the B&N in Rochester Hills, MI

All times are on her news page at www.donnamckechnie.com

some never get out of the anal stage it is just silly to think you "own" an actor

To that I would add that you'll notice the absence of the original series cast members who were not involved in the reading -- Millay, McKechnie, Durkin, etc. It was only an official cast photo insofar as it represented the cast of the Fest readings, not the cast of the original series.

there is 1 female fan that has always latched on to certain stars and gives off the impression of being a bodyguard and i always tend not to want to aproach the star if she is next to her. i would rather wait till she is not around. the fan is also on the festival comittee so i guess her protection instincts are somewhat justified but it always seems to be her. arent there other festival members that could share this task? do the cast members even need or want anybody by their side? as for the photos with richard and jim and the cast, i see those photos as official festival photos and not ds cast photos. since jim is the head of the fest and richard hosted the fest i dont see why they should be excluded.

In 1939, Lord Larry was considered a sex symbol
by the industry, and the dude could act, too!
Woof!
