The Fest mailing I got says that attendees will receive "an ABC negative for an original DS episode (only one negative was ever made for each episode)"
???
What is this? DS was shot on videotape, so, where do these negatives come from?
-
I think they mean kinescope negatives!
-
Mr. Gross? :)

Yes? Not sure the question.
They're kinescope negatives.

Thanks ;D

They're kinescope negatives.
Okay, I've got a stupid question, what's a kinescope negative? Is it something you can put in a frame like a picture or is it like a regular photograph negative?
-
it said somewhere that they're complete with all of the original commercails and everything, so I'm assuming they are entire reels.
-
they r probably 16mm film, but in negative form. this means all the black images are white and all white images are black. they probably used these negatives to make contact 16mm positive prints. if u tried to project them u will see a reverse image. there are film telecines that can reverse the images or maybe it could be reversed if u fed it into an expensive computer system but would it be worth all the trouble just to view an episode with original commercials? its still a nice collectors item.
