Title: MORBID COUNT
Post by: VAM on April 25, 2002, 05:24:45 PM
Which of the storylines (1795, 1840, 1840/41PT , 1897, 1970PT) had the largest number of deaths listed in the census
for Collinsport?(perhaps some not documented but occured) There was the curse in 1795...two terminators in 1897....that menacing warlock in 1840...the lottery in 1840/41PT...that kiss of death in 1970PT. Do you know the score?

1840--19 deaths
1970 PT--16 deaths
1795--15 deaths

ProfStokes......don't you think it's a bit "morbid" that you actually KNOW the statistics regarding number of deaths in each story arc of this show?  Do you have them committed to memory, or did you call the Collinsport coroners office?   ;)

The Eagle Hill Cemetery caretaker was very informative.  ;)

Actually, Raineypark, I have a pretty good memory for what happened in each story line, even if I can't remember all of the minor characters' names.  To be honest, I pulled out the DS Almanac and went through the list of characters, ticking off all of the victims that I remembered.

If I may piggyback on this topic with another morbid question--who's most responsible for contributing to the above statistics: Barnabas, Angelique, Quentin, or Julia?

I stand in awe of a whole bunch of you who seem to have the show and all it's plot intricacies committed to memory!

I haven't seen the series since the first time around.... and even then, I'm pretty sure I wasn't watching all the time by the end,  so a lot of this stuff is news to me.

I always pay attention when the 'Scholars' among us respond to a question.  ;)

Thank goodness!!  Now I know I'm not the only one of the first run fans who don't remember everything.

I was the same way I think.  I don't think I saw every episode or time period towards the end.  I was in high school 68-72 so I know I missed a few ......  ;D

My guess would be Angelique-both directly and indirectly
responsible.

Barnabas.  Usually when he was "trying to help."  There's an interesting and quite obvious moment in 1897 where his job was pretty much done and if he'd just gone back, that death count would have been way down . . . but nooooo, his libido was raging and he just had to stick around and make it all worse  ;)

WOW!! Way to go Prof. Stokes!! Never mind getting the info from the caretaker! Your data seems more accurate!I didn't realize so many people died in these storylines, especially during 1897! You're a true Professor! :)

I'm impressed too Prof S i was going to guess 1897 because it run the longest but have to think Petofi
was responsible for most of the deaths. Quentin had a few as  the werewolf and Jenny. Garth Blackwood killed three at least. Gregory and Evan: Mrs trask. Angelique really only killed Laura'. Judith,2,Rachel and Gregory,
Edward killed Dirk. Barnabas at least three
