No doubt, most of the action on DS took place at the Big or Old House. However, the caretaker's cottage had its share of residents, visitors, and also a piece of the action. Do you recall some memorable guests and events that could elevate it to the fame of the two mansions?

David locks Mrs. Johnson in the cottage, the lights go out, and the ghost of Quentin appears, giving Mrs. Johnson quite a fright! Maggie rescues her.
-
Matthew Morgan temporarily held Vicki hostage at the cottage until Mrs. Stoddard arrived to save her.
Laura lived in the cottage and cast her spells in front of the big fireplace.
Chris Jennings also occupied the cottage. In addition to undergoing his transformations there, he killed Donna Friedlander.

The one that comes to my mind for me is......
When Laura is in the cottage casting those spells in front of that nice fireplace. I love those that have a mantle. Whenever she had a fire going, which was most the time, i could just imagine snuggling in front of it with an interesting book to read.

The cottage was a good meeting place for Quentin & Evan Hanley to practice the black arts during 1897. It was on one of these meetings that they called upon the powers of darkness to send them someone to help them defeat Barnabas, who they felt was against them. What they got was Angelique, who appeared to them from out of the flames in the fire place. [burn]

It was the home of Daphne and Catherine Harridge during the 1840PT...Quentin was stabbed by Crazy Jenny there in the 1897 storyline.

Weren't Ben and Carrie Stokes the occupants of the cottage in 1841PT?

I'm posting this message for VAM--

Thanks, VAM and Midnite. For some reason, I keep thinking that Ben and Carrie lived at Collinwood during 1840/41RT, and in the cottage during 1841PT. Guess my memory is playing tricks on me!

I think MikeS is right. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out just which was which. Will contain spoilers for the last two storylines:
In RT, Julia came into the past and Ben was living at Collinwood and found her and helped her. Carrie was his granddaughter, and so lived there, too, and presumably continued to live there after his death.
In PT Carrie was psychic and some of the Collinses went to the cottage to try to get her help. It apparently had also been the meeting place in their past of Amanda Collins and her lover (Forsythe?).
-
I believe you're correct, MikeS. In 1841 PT Carrie the psychic wonder did live in the cottage.
SPOILER
That's where James Forsythe went to dig up his sister and Carrie definitely lived there.
Didn't Bruno live there in 1970 PT? He even died there...

Actually, I think we both are. I do remember Bramwell at the beginning of the 1840/41PT visiting Catherine Harridge at the cottage. Perhaps it had different occupants after Catherine's marraige to Morgan and Daphne's to Bramwell. Does anyone also remember?
Bruno did occupy the cottage in 1970PT.

I always assumed that the Harridges lived somewhere else. They were a separate family from the town whose daughters became involved with Collins men. I'm sure they lived in the town and not on the Collins property. I would guess that it would be the Evans cottage that they lived in.

what about the fishing shack?????
