On September 8, the eternally beautiful Jaclyn Smith will be releasing a memoir entitled I Once Knew A Guy Named Charlie. The book will naturally deal with her five years as Kelly Garrett on Charlie's Angels but it will mostly be the story of her life. She will certainly discuss Kate Jackson. It will be interesting to see how she addresses her relationship with her first husband, the one and only Roger Davis.

Considering she has said on occasion that she prefers to completely forget that she was ever married to him, it would be quite interesting if he's never even mentioned. [easter_wink]

A recent article in People states that the book will discuss her past marriages but referred to a certain hair grabber as ROBERT Davis. [ghost_grin] [ghost_cheesy] [ghost_grin]

[pointing-up] He must love that...

One of the pictures that Jaclyn shares in the book was taken by Ben Martin. She says that it's her husband's favorite picture of her.

I am currently reading the book. It's quite an interesting read. A good chunk of it is Dark Shadows adjacent. She and Roger Davis met at a commercial audition. She didn't get that particular job but starting dating Roger. About a month into the relationship came the news that Alexandra Moltke was leaving Dark Shadows and the hunt was on for an actress to replace her. Despite the fact that she had no other professional experience other than commercials, Jaclyn agreed to audition. She states that she was offered the part but turned it down. She didn't like the idea of being Roger's love interest both on and off screen. Too much overlap.
I realize that this may contradict some of the established Dark Shadows lore but this is how she remembers things. Consider this to be her scrapbook memories.

She states that she does not regard her marriages to Roger and Dennis Cole as real marriages, calling them mistakes of her youth. And would have left them out of the book entirely if the choice had been up to her. She had brought up with traditional values which meant no sex before marriage. Looking back, she acknowledges that if she had a fling with them, it might have spared her two marriages and the subsequent divorces.
Dennis Cole passed away in 2009 but Roger Davis is still with us as of this writing. He has yet to comment on what Jaclyn has written about him. If he's smart (admittedly, a BIG if), he will keep his mouth shut.
